The truth is is that a lot of what comes in New versions of Android or their respective skins Samsung has had for a little while.

Outside of security updates Samsung users generally have a lot of fucntionality before everyone else. (Dark mode etc etc etc)

hit my S10 last night also.

Have to say im impressed how system updates work now on droid,  with the core update not taking that long and the rest downloading in the background ..and returns yr phone to the exact state it was in last, right down to the particular apps you had open at the time.

as others are saying not a whole lot different here .. but i did try the gestures.

Actually having resisted gestures for some time i ended up turning on the previously avail samsung gesture system. and yeh i just hate that, reaching the bottom left corner to swipe up is too far a stretch even on a regular-sized S10 ... pretty much makes phone operation a two-handed affair.

being on nova thats all i had access to.  so i switched back to OneUI, and tried out the new apple ripping off android10 gestures .. and yeh, so much better i think i will stick with it.  the sideswipes for back work , and focusing on the center bottom for most of the gestures works way more comfortably

so that for me is the main update with this

I just updated my S10 as well. I wondered why it didn’t seem much different until I realised I was using Apex launcher which already had a lot of the enhancements brought in with 10/One UI. Thanks @Sundr0p for the clue.

The changes are subtle, but great. The move to align gestures with Google is the best improvement and now aligns my phone with my Huawei tablet. I'd suggest trying gestures if you haven't already. And stick with it for a few days, it feels foreign at first but becomes second nature after a bit and is a great improvement on the historical three button layout.

The Android 10 enhancement to only permit location during app use is also great to have. For those with a bit of spare time, this video shows some of the changes with the upgrade:

Have switched to the gesture navigation, still getting used to it and at the same time slowly warming up to it

After a week my S10+ started to lag, once i performed a factory reset the phone was much quicker overall. Can't wait till the we can use google gestures with a third party launcher, the new Lawnchair v2 is to good not to use!

Has anyone else noticed some random glitchy behaviour with their S10 post Android 10 update? I have experienced very stubborn finger print recognition. Lower screen brightness even at maximum. App closure. Screen not responding to touch in bright light. I haven't tried a factory reset yet but will certainly do this very soon.

Edit; I have a S10 Plus

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Two annoying things; first one def a fault, the second one perhaps deliberate, but unsure what's going on:

1. Random glitching of the shortcuts across the bottom of my launcher (Microsoft Launcher); it simply doesn't respond to touch for a period of 10 seconds or so. Can open the same app via the app draw.

2. Keyboard (Gboard): holding down the full-stop (period) button down to select key punctuation results in the keyboard disappearing and the window being dragged; clearly I'm doing something wrong in relation to a gesture, but it's bloody frustrating.

I'm not sure if the fingerprint reader is any worse as I've always disliked it and found it terribly inaccurate.

i don't think the android 10 is working as planned on this phone. wishing it can roll back. no perceivable benefit too?

Having just got my first phone with a fingerprint reader, being an S10+, I have been very disappointed with the reliability of the scanner. Initially I put it down to the fact that I work in a workshop and my fingers are either constantly grubby, or that I keep "changing" them slightly with nicks or scratches. Hearing that others have issues with the same reader makes me think twice about that.

Although, best success I generally have is with either of my pinkies - they tend to get "edited" the least!

I think a chunk of the issues may be due to Gestures. Might turn them off and see how many bugs go away.

it's not reliable because it uses sound waves and they get distorted through the screen protector apparently. the reliable ones use optical (it's a camera).

but i'm not taking of the screen protector to find out.

I don't have a screen protector and the finger print reader is hit or miss.
Has anyone seen any improvements after s factory reset?
