update turned up tonight and went quite smoothly compared to 4.4.

must say I am getting tired of re-rooting my nexus 7 all the time?

I have a N7 2013 which I bought from the Play store i the US and imported privately.
It had the problem with the touch screen not responding, and I was finding very dificult to use.

Then the 4.4 update came... and it was 99% fixed.. YAY...

I foolishly did the 4.4.2 OTA.. and now back to before... barely useable.

I assume that I cant easily downgrade?

It is *pretty easy* to reflash back to 4.4

Grab the firmware you want from google:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#razor

Follow these instructions:
http://www.androidbeat.com/2013/11/flash-factory-image-nexus-device/

Takes a bit to set up for the first time but once you have done it once it is a breeze.

Try this if you're having problems with your touch screeen.  My touch screen was perfect until I updated to 4.4 and this helped me a lot.

Thanks for the reply, but loosing all my data seems a pain in the butt...
Its the one thing that I still remember from my  iPhone days that Apple does so much better.. being able to backup and restore ALL your device data and settings etc from your computer.

Hmm the results seem quite variable doing this.. I think I prefer to just reflash 4.4 as I know it was working well..
