farcus: I got 5.1.1 (build LMY48B) ota on my Nexus 5 last night.
No immediate problems - seems to be running very well . . .  but then I didn't really notice any problems on 5.1.0

Gaah!

I got 5.1.1 on my Nexus 5 yesterday, same LMY48B build.

But the 5.1.1 update has shot my battery life to hell again. I had big battery issues on 5.0.x, all cleared up on 5.1, now back to issues again. 9% drain just reading about Sepp *finally* falling on his sword on Firefox.

I really don't want to have to factory reset it again.

Got 5.1.1 on my N6 yesterday.
No battery life difference here.

@mdf: Try and ensure you have the lastest Google Play Services.  In Google app, search for "Google Play Services" and then click on the icon. It'll take you to the Play Store Link for it.  You're probably already on the latest, but if not, update to it in the Play Store and then reboot.  See if that helps.

My Nexus 4 updated yesterday to 5.1.1.  haven't had a chance to check battery life yet  but it was always crap  when on cell data.  wifi only was OK..

My wifes 2012 Nexus 7  is still crap after going to 5.1.1.  Was a great tablet when it was ICS 4.4.4..

Yep, seems to be the latest. Thanks for the suggestion though.

+1 to this. My Nexus 7 has been relegated to a remote for the TV. Even then it still takes ages to start. I might try a downgrade if I ever get around to it.

After two days hovering near power outputs, I had had enough last night.

I cleared the cache using the instructions here.

It *seems* to have made a difference. I got a good 10-11 hours of average use before needing to charge. Still less than what it was before 5.1.1, but a significant improvement over the last two days' efforts.

with moderate to heavy use I am still sitting on about a 40 - 50% remaining charge after 14 - 16 hours.
I'm not sure what makes the difference between my Nexus 5 and yours as we both have the same build. My Nexus 5 is about 6 months old.
I'm based in Japan and spend about 60 - 70% of the day connected to wifi so perhaps that might be what makes the difference.
