networkn:
@nikt do you expect spare parts to be available for this device? I am wanting another backplate.
Should be doable, I've asked the service team to look into it.

Ok next question, I like most aspects of this phone, BUT, taking a screenshot is almost undoable. On/Off on the back + down volume is so awkward. Any other ways like palm across screen or something?
Also I can't find out how to unlock the phone with my voice, the Pixel etc, let you do OK GOOGLE to go to a search which was ok, but I don't really want it going to search every time.

No joy with spare backplates just yet, too early. Team's going to keep looking.
Re: screenshots, that's what LG's 'Capture+' is. There's a quick toggle, or you can set up a soft navigation key, or you can always hold down home for Google Now On Tap and choose 'share'.

So far the only problem I've had that concerned me with this phone is with WeChat. It's a minor issue but sometimes I noticed my friend sends me a message in WeChat and it somehow gets delayed (it isn't common, just happens occasionally). The message might arrive a few hours later. I never had this before on my Samsung Note 3.
Whatsapp doesn't seem to have an issue so.. it's possible it is just a coincidence and WeChat had busy servers the past couple weeks. On occasion when I open WeChat, I was getting 'Unable to access server error' or something similar. The error disappears within a second and then the app works fine. The error only sometimes appears... it is hard to predict when it will occur.
It made me wonder if Nougat is a bit aggressive in optimising for battery when the phone is not being used and sometimes puts the network or application connectivity to sleep. I just turned off battery optimisations for WeChat and will see what happens.
Just wondering if anyone else noticed something similar?
So far turning off battery optimisation for wechat seems to have done the trick.
Does anyone know if LG is going to be officially selling this device in NZ? What are the main differences between a parallel import and official type anyway?
Thanks

Worth reading through the whole thread - back on one of the earlier pages someone mentioned LG had announced they weren't bringing this to NZ.
Edit: on your second question: given NikT talks earlier about the one his firm is selling being an AU/NZ model, then I'm sure if LG had been bringing the model into NZ it would have been the same as one can buy here now (sold by parallel importers). The key difference relates not the product but to what happens if something goes wrong - LG NZ won't have any interest or obligation in helping you out, and you'll need to go through the place you bought it (which is likely to also be the importer).
So far for me it has been awesome. The camera is really great. I especially found the wide angle lens brilliant - I use it much more than I thought I would. Looking online at some of the pics people have done with the manual settings on the camera, they are quite amazing. I think with future updates, the camera will get better too as there is room to improve the auto mode shots. Check out this photo someone posted yesterday:

Many reviewers were knocking this phone and the camera but it is becoming clear that this phone is highly underrated! Too many reviewers these days seem to have an agenda.
Battery life is great. Pretty much charge once per day.
Not really any issues I've noticed. It has been by far the most polished android device out of the box (from day 1) that I have had so far.
The second screen is great and actually much better for me than an LED - I hope more devices make use of this type of feature in future. I like being able to glance and see what app has a notification without having to turn the main screen on. I also use the second screen to switch apps really quickly which I frequent.
Essentially for me, the phone does exactly what I need and filled the gap after Note 7 was removed from the market. (I seem to get by without a stylus... I'd love one but I can get by).
How much screen on time are you getting on the V20?
I haven't monitored too closely but when I last checked a couple weeks ago I was at 5 hours with about 25% charge remaining (web browsing mostly), so could probably get 6.5 hours or so. I'll try remember to check again tomorrow when battery is low.
Aside from SOT ...
Yesterday I went full day with usual web browsing, whatsapp, a couple phonecalls etc. During the evening I had a 74 minute video call over wechat and by midnight when I went to sleep I still had 15% battery remaining.
The phone charges in about an hour anyway, so it's fine if I needed to top up the charge quickly. Maybe if I travel I'll grab a second battery.
