Disrespective:

My Spark sourced S7E showed the update about 10am this morning. All updated and going well. UI improvements are good tweaks. No issues with any apps failing to run either. So far so good.

Woo hoo - after reading this I checked my VF S7 ... and there she is!

Downloading now (-;

Finally.

Excited.

I have to say it's a pretty impressive rollout speed, about 6 since Nougat was released for the S7 till coming out here.

Compare that to the 6 months? I think for the S6 to get Marshmallow.

S6 will be getting 7.0 - Samsung said so, when is the big question though haha.

Woo hoo,

Nougat has arrived on my HTC 10 today too ( purchased at Noel Leeming, and running on Spark).  Update underway now :)

Brilliant new nougat update returns s7 edge to note 7 features. My vr gear headset just works and same as my s2 gear neo works with more features.

Like the new themes where you can have separate wallpaper and icons, and AOD all notifications showing is better. Camera app is a lot better with new great settings, volume controls easier separate settings, hold icons down for info on them and double tapping recents to open last app used. Overall very easy update and visual changes excellent, very happy smilecool

I'm feeling the Samsung love.

  • New colour scheme and graphics look great, less busy
  • Night mode (most anticipated new feature)
  • Improved split screen via recent apps
  • AOD now shows non-Samsung message notifications and music playing, and colour options for clock
  • Hoping FHD resolution option improves battery
  • New notifications are great.

Plus I'm running Pixel launcher via Action 3 launcher ... and very soon Google will be rolling out Assistant to all phones ... I'm lovin' it like a pig in muck

Using FHD rather than the highest res gives me a lot more battery life, and I check my phone constantly and from like 9am till midnight i'll still have 40% battery life with 3-4 screen on hours at full brightness (from being outside)

Bloody hell that is good battery life.  I have a very love/hate relationship with samsung. I love their hardware as they tend to put so much into their phones (wireless charging, nice screens, great bluetooth etc). But their software drives me mad, they do get it right with the software most of the time just takes so long for them to release updates and their "hold off new stuff for new phone" drives me nuts.  Like the s7 edge and 3rd party AOD notifications which has taken months to get done.

I have said many times I would pay them a fee to upgrade faster than taking months for one.

Saying all this however I just know i will end up buying an s8 and then hating myself after the next release of android.

A few days in, and I have to say the Samsung implementation of Nougat on my S7 is flawless - a significant improvement over Marshmallow. And looking at Nougat on several other brands, eg LG and Sony, I prefer the Samsung over both.

That said, it did take way too long to arrive. I'm not up for a similar wait with my next phone, so unlikely I will go with Samsung next time around.

God they only just managed it didn't they. Given just about every other major OEM has had it for at least weeks, if not months, this is embarrassingly pathetic from Samsung.

Just upgraded to 7.0 on 2degrees...Although the update didn't push through, when I checked manually yesterday it was available...Awesome.

So all up and running and really liking some parts for this version. Some great new features (double tap recent apps is awesome)...

However I do have some issues...

When I go into the settings windows, my top nofication bar icons disappear and the title for the settings window is unreadable (white on white).

Will try and upload a screenshot but haven't tried from phone before so hope this helps.

Hopefully you can see that there are no icons in notifications bar (you can see a faint black battery icon) and the word settings is white font on the white background.

I'm running nova launcher...

Any help appreciated

You won't like my reply but doing a factory reset is the best idea. I did a full reset as apart of my install and it's sooooo fast and smooth because of it.

If you don't want to do a full reset. At least reset permissions in settings. It'll fix your battery drain. Mine wasn't sleeping which ate drastically into battery life. I flashed BTU via Odin back in January.
