@gehenna Where did you get the leather case? I haven't been able to find anyone with them in stock.

I picked up the Spigen Rugged Armor and the USB port cutout rests on my finger when holding it. It has a sharpish edge to the cutout and it is rather uncomfortable so looking for something better.

Is anybody aware of any 3rd party manufacturers that have made an S Pen case for the S21 Ultra? I have ordered myself a Samsung Silicon one, but I'm still interested in seeing other options

This is the first Android phone I've found usable full time does the gimmicks well and all the regular things well as well, which I've found every other Android phone to have some issue that held me back from using full time.

Dual sim merged both my iPhone and work phone together, great cameras, great performance absolutely no issues so far.

Just gotta get the Samsung watch and I'll be all in.

I want a new ~6 inch phone with wireless charging.

I had my heart set on the Pixel 5 but I think given that phone's availability issues in NZ, the S21 is too strong an argument to ignore.

128GB Pixel 5 is $1150 at dse.co.nz, and might ship in a month (if lucky). Equally possibly not at all. Otherwise it's $1385 at a semi-dodgy parallel importer... and the 5G won't work in NZ atm.

256GB S21 is $980 after educational discount direct from Samsung, ships immediately, officially supported 5G.

From what I've read battery life and camera will both be a little worse than the Pixel. Most everything else will be the same or better.

I haven't owned a Samsung phone ever because I've always hated their Android skin. I've heard it's not as bad these days. Someone give me the little push I need - is this the right decision?

Get the watch and buds and you will live a better life. I went a step further and got a Samsung fridge as well.

It's the right decision. Most of the pixel fanboys still think samsung is using touchwiz. One ui is great and it's also fully theamable so if you don't like it just change it. Many bits of the os that samsung have written are actual better than stock Android and your definitely have more control and options.

The one disadvantage with samsung is slow updates. That only matters if you have fomo and they are getting faster.

Pixel always has rubbish hardware.

Thanks. To be honest I hadn't actually twigged that it wasn't Touchwiz anymore either. Shows how long it's been since I've seriously looked at a Samsung.

Have ordered and looking forward to a big upgrade from my HTC 10.

Is it beneficial to get one from the US?
Seems 2/3 of the price for the S21 Ultra 5g compared to Samsung NZ.
Their trade in phone allowance is far higher too in the US although obviously not an option here in this case.

Im an old galaxy Note User I think from the S1 even.

Currently have a Huawei P30 pro and have had it nearly 2 years. Love the camera and I manage a large FB group that is devoted on the camera.

mainly interested in the Camera Specs and performance.

I am looking at the 21 Ultra for camera specs and the android non availability on the huawei p40 and above.

Has anyone switched from the Huawei P30 pro just for the camera.

Id be keen on opinions and views.

I've had my Galaxy S10 (Snapdragon) since launch and I've always been extremely happy with the quality of the 4k30 HDR video that it churns out. So when I purchased my wife a Galaxy S21 (Exynos) recently, the first thing I did was set her camera to the same video quality. However, there is unacceptable lag and stuttering when shooting in this video mode. The whole camera app seems to grind to a halt, the framerate drops to 10fps, and the video appears to record for a good 5 seconds after pressing stop. Clearly it is not coping at all. I'm hoping that this just a bad firmware bug that is going to get patched soon rather than something more sinister. Can anyone confirm similar findings on their devices?

When I disable HDR, everything is fine, so that is the mode we use for now. But it's not right that my 2-year-old S10 can shoot visibly superior video when compared to the S21.  Perhaps I just need to do a system reset?
