If they value it full price, yes.
But they dont. So unsure what value they give it, but if caught in customs then I guess there will be a problem, and the true value would have to be disclosed, and then the GST paid.
To get past customs with no GST it would have to be in the region of 599 USD + shipping, to give a little bit of head room, and hope it goes through.
But its the same no matter who you import it from, if they give it full price, you add the GST.
One of the many risks with importing I guess

Wondamobile also emailed me saying "We will declare a low value for the parcel, you don't need to pay extra customs and taxes other than our prices."
If anyone was curious about buying from them too.
They dont have stock currently though and can't backorder/pre-order

I asked Gad-Hub to confirm the Vivo X300 Ultra
We have confirmed with our warehouse team that the Vivo X300 Ultra we are selling is the Global ROM version.

For me personally, their response seems ambiguous - the phone either is Chinese version flashed with global ROM on it or it's a global version that supports eSIM

A Chinese phone, sketchy purchase information, no local support - and you are willing to shell out an extra $1,000 more than iPhone Pro Max with full warranty for the privilege?!
What is so great about this phone, does it take you out drinking on Friday night and shout the evening?

I would pay $10k to avoid the mediocrity that is an iPhone.

It's a thing called innovation and that there are other choices outside of Samsung, Apple and Google.

So how does the X9 rise above the mediocrity of an iPhone? Genuine question. Assuming the app experience is driven by the app developer, not the phone (ie, your experience within an app is pretty much the same on both phones), what does the X9 do so differently that you would pay thousands of dollars more for?
Iphone is just crap..period..wait till they relesse a fold, like 5 years behind..and apple fans will go crazy.. and btw please find an iphone forum to discuss ur apple desires.. every1 here is pretty much only intresred in talking about the phone mentioned in the title..if you find iphone so great.. m happy for u but stop spamming here about it.. thanks for ur intellectual understanding

I wasn’t plugging iphone, just using it as a comparator. Feel free to insert any other flagship brand. I genuinely want to know why someone would drop $3.5+k on a Chinese phone with no local support or warranty. It seems an insane purchase choice to me, but convince me otherwise.

Curious why the country of origin has anything to do with if something is good or not. China, Korea, Japan, USA, what does that matter? So many things made in China are better quality than things made in USA, they are not blanketly crap because they are made in China. I have been to China so many times with work, and we have a factory there too, as everything is available right on the doorstep as everything essentially is made there. Issue with production, go down the street to the company who makes the part and find a solution. It's great.
How many parts in an iPhone do you think come from China?
Genuinely curious why the country of origin is such a big factor in discussions.
Regarding local support and warranty, yes that is an issue somewhat, but Oppo has not come into Australia or New Zealand markets at all yet for flagship phones, so its the only way to get them. I personally have never claimed warranty for any phone I have had though, so its not really a big factor to me, based on past experience. If there is an issue, I hope the company I buy it from honours their warranty like I have been told they will, and ill just use another phone while its away. Inconvienent, yes, however with how global shipping is now, its not really any different than sending it to a local service agent, waiting 2 weeks for them to get it and it reach the top of the pile, and then have it sent back. Local repairs under warranty are not as easy as it might seem.
Its 100% a risk though to import something like this, but given only the biggest players get to sell their phones in the NZ/AU market, and I am looking now to move away from Samsung, then there isnt much of an option really.
Apple, never been a fan. Dont like the brand, don't like the eco system (but can appreciate people do). I havent used Apple in anger since I was at school and was forced to use them, other than trying to fix colleagues computers who happened to be on Apple, and hating every minute of it - but that is just me. I am a Windows and Android guy. I cannot run the software I need to run for work, on Apple products, so there is that too.

What I find insane is Samsung & Apple charging similar amount of money, in some cases more, for their "flagship" phones with minimal/mediocre upgrades year over year, pushing intangible software experience with AI BS. At least with Oppo Find X9 Ultra, you are seeing innovation in camera tech, battery capacity and charging speed, all of which provide actual improved user experience/benefits.

The phones are literally cheaper, or at worst the same price as Apple and Samsung while offering superior battery and camera tech.
