I guess if I'm going to justify why I should be chosen to help review the HTC One X for Geekzone and TelecomTech:

-I've previously reviewed the HTC Sensation for the Geekzone TelecomTech blog and I still support it through my signature
-I have experience with previous HTC devices and still have access to my fiancee's HTC Sensation for a direct comparison
-I also have a Samsung Galaxy SII for direct comparison with a previous generation high-end handset
-I'm a current Telecom XT user (and a heavy one at that!)
-I'm a fairly vocal Android and smartphone advocate who posts frequently on Geekzone
-I have experience writing for AndroidNZ.net

and lastly and most importantly of all - I'm a geek!

as for my lack of Aucklanderness - I'm fairly sure I could travel up for such an important event

If I don't get chosen, I'll fly to Auckland anyway, then drink myself into a stupor!

Then drown my sorrows by going into a few electronics shops, and racking up the credit card

why geekzone should choose me?

1. my android phone history (phone that i use more than 3 months) - htc magic, motorola defy, motorola milestone2, samsung galaxy s2

2. my mobile practically lives with me, wherever i go, it is always there within my hands' reach

3. i enjoy writing review (but i admit, i have'nt written anything as long as NZtechfreak)

4. i am a huge android fan but willing to admit if there is something wrong with the product

5. i am willing to sell my soul for new gadget

Can put you up for a night Vinnieg! Maybe an Android-users night out?

I would like to put my name in the hat too, reasons I would be good, err… I’m a tester by profession, I have loads of experience with android and other smart phones and I’m a geeky tech freak (Which obviously sets me apart from everyone else here ;-)

That would be awesome!  Being allowed to talk about phones without my wife complaining/stopping me!

At most things my phone is confiscated within the first 5 minutes...:(

I'm located in hamilton and am very interested in this. Transport should be fine considering its not that far away to auckland.

I currently have a HTC Desire. Its coming up 2 years old and this year I'm looking into new devices, so this is definitely already high on my candidate list.
I'm already with Telecom XT simply because no other network compares in terms of data speeds.

I feel i've contributed a sizable amount to geekzone since joining up and reckon this is pretty much the best android community NZ has. I'm yet to win any competitions or get the opportunity to participate in any community events and so i'd love to have a go. Just realized its coming up four and a half years since i joined. Wow.
I have a very strong interest in Telecom and HTCs products and services so this combination is perfect.

I already put a large amount of time into helping other people on various forums, so I feel that not only could i provide a solid and comprehensive review on the device initially, but assist new users with it on an ongoing basis.

I'd review it fairly and objectively however, comparing against other offerings as i've had a go with many other current flagships such as the iPhone4S and the Lumia 800, as well as other top end devices. I've used a sensation too so it'd be interesting observing the evolution of HTCs product line. I'd also compare Telecoms network and what they offer vs the others, because no one trusts a bias review.

That's what I can offer, I hope this is enough!

I have now contacted five people from this discussion. One was selected by his peers (well done, NZTechFreak!) while the other four were randomly selected from the replies here.

Please check your Geekzone Messages page if you see the little yellow envelope close to your name in the menu on top of this page and reply to me with the information required and any questions.

For all others, great to see such enthusiasm and participation. Wonderful to see you appointing one of the group to be in the list. And I hope to have other opportunities in the future for more Geekzoners!
