Just got called back, apparently that Telecom store has made the decision that they will only make their allocation available to customers on a plan. The online person called another store to ask if they can reserve a phone for me.. what a nice lady :D

After more arguing and frustration I have settled up with Noel Leemings - $100 and I am the proud new owner of two HTC Ones although I have to pick up the second one from a different store.

Vodafone is claiming the number I have with 2 Degrees, that I have had for the last 3 years (transferred from Vodafone too) doesn't exist which is just great fun - have to try and sort that out this afternoon.

When companies have giveaways isn't there something (generally) that says employers of the company cant enter the draw?

This guy says he won it through Telecom and works for them.

Guts he's in Dunedin, I'd be keen.

It may have been an internal competition..

It could've been an internal sales competition, or an award for long term employement. Who knows?

Just checking in to say that after several days, the phone is an absolute joy to use. Even just coming from the One X, the improvements in the software and performance on the One are fantastic.

networkn: The power button is seriously driving me nutty!

+1. Driving me nuts too. Loving the phone but this is the one thing I don't like. Are there any non-jailbreak apps that will give an alternative wake method?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

It's a known manufacturing defect. I think you'd be within your rights to refuse to accept it and get your money back

Not really. Which branch was this? I wouldn't mind the Vodafone version.
