NzBeagle: As mentioned, the stock charger will output sufficient power for the phone to charge and be used at the same time. It's likely this is the reason, but testing the standard charger will verify this for you.

otari: Use the stock charger, and don't worry it takes a few days for the battery to calibrate and settle in.

I think this is a great looking case. Nice texture on the back should give me some confidence when getting used to the size difference compared to my old iPhone. Adds a little bit of bulk but not any that is exceptionally noticeable. All the ports are easy to get into, testing with the stock charger and a couple of other cables with varying connectors, no trouble at all. Tested a couple of pairs of headphones including the stock headphones and some Sennheiser HD400's, no problem fitting those either.

The case has a nice lip around it which you can make out in the photos, this prevents the screen from touching surfaces when it is face down. There is also something similar around the top and bottom edges, though at the top this is more of a pain because the problematic on/off button gets slightly harder to access, as you have to curve your fingertip around it.

Overall, great case, happy with my purchase. Also came with a screen protector which i fitted and then immediately removed, ruined the feel of the screen and my fingers could no longer glide over with the ease they enjoyed sans protector.

The camera microphone seems good. What these fones need is some sort of image stabilization..

Mine has a gap, took me a few moments to make sure it was the gap everybody has been talking about.. I honestly do not understand what the big deal is, it is so tiny, I couldn't even tell in the photos people have been posting. People have been opening up brand new shrink wrapped boxes only to refuse to accept it and then open up another one? I'm sure there are people out there like me that wouldn't mind having that phone, but are they still going to sell it now its been opened or does it get sent away? I can understand if its out of principle since HTC has apparently said they should have zero gap, but I don't get it..

Of a bigger concern for me: I've got 2 dead pixels. I can't imagine they'd let me take it back with only 2, but they are very noticeable on the lock screen (since it is mostly black) :/

HTC advertised the device has gapless, so if you don't get gapless, then you are entitled to get another.

As with your pixel issue, I would return it for another. You have only bought it recently and there's no problem taking it back.

Is the HTC One the first phone to have so many pixel issues? I've read the forums in Aussie and many of them have dead / bright pixel problems.

Doesn't seem to plague the S4 yet..

I've got two at home and I have played with three others and none of them had any dead/stuck pixels from what I could tell.

I always think people are far more likely to moan when they have a problem than report that everything is sweet but I'd be mad if I had a dead pixel too.

I stopped in at Noel Leeming on my was past this morning. The guy I spoke to was really nice, and knew immediately about the April sale and stock delays when I asked if my HTC One had come in yet. He also said lots of people have been asking about the 20% discount since the sale finished.

Anyway, he had a look in the computer and the stock system said that there was no timeframe for availability at this time.

I'm the same boat as you guys. Got a great deal on (at the time) an unlisted product. Noel Leeming has never personally promised me any due date. So I'm happy to wait.

That doesn't however mean that I'm not jealous of everyone else in this thread who has their HTC One's already. Because I totally am ;p

They are most likely 'stuck' pixels and not dead. There are some guides over at the Xda One forums on how to resolve this.

I think I've found HTC's up to date warranty / pixel policy for Android devices in the Asia region:

Section 7.h
"Due to the complexity of liquid crystal displays on handheld devices, dead or bright pixels may sometimes occur. If the following occurs within DOA period, then you can ask to replace the LCD at our authorized service centre.
(1) 3 or more dead/bright pixels (*) anywhere on the liquid crystal display.
(2) If there are only 2 dead/bright pixels, then they must be within 5mm of each other"

Hope that helps.

I'm having a hard time finding local warranty information for HTC One from Vodafone or Telecom, so I'm not sure whether local devices inherit the manufacturers policy or not.

Ah I stand corrected, ran a pixel fixer for a while but no cigar. I was told on the phone before buying that the store I went to had two in stock, I may wait a few days before trying to return the phone (post above notwithstanding). It was easy enough to transfer everything from my S2 to HTC One but what about new stuff on this HTC One to another HTC One? :/

anyone know where I could purchase a screen protector or case in store?
I've ordered some from ebay but shipping is taking longer than I thought it would.
Just want something to cover my phone in the mean time.
Tried jb hifi, dse and stuff.
Anyone know a local phone store which might have these.
