Outdoor photos are awesome, as mentioned, indoor not so good. But can be improved with playing around.

Have found the video quality isn't that crash hot either.

4.4.2 KitKat update is out now for phones from Hong Kong I'm guessing.

Just finished an OTA update on mine.

Few colour changes, camera opens super quick now and knock on seems more responsive as well so far.

Good times :)

I'm on a custom ROM that seems like the dev has jumped ship on it. Will have to look at unrooting and removing TWRP before updating.

Battery life seems to have improved as well. Had it on full charge before upgrading, did the upgrade (takes about 20 mins all up), and then hit the gym with music, played a few games after that, caught up on Suits over wifi/plex... about 3 hours use and battery was still at 80% at the end of it all. solid

havn't taken any low light photos yet. i do use an app called "a better camera" which seems to have a lot more iso, exposure options than the built in camera software so works for me :)

I've considered that app but $8 is a joke.

There is a fix on XDA developers for most of the camera issues and one for a volume boost for headphones, but it does require that the phone is rooted.

Im in two minds about this sort of thing, mainly because the "fixes" seem to throw up just as many problems as the solve sometimes.

As dpresha9 said, battery life has really improved. Gave the phone a hiding on wifi and calls yesterday and today and still at 71%

Just wondering what the action is like on the G2 now? Still reliable etc?

I have just been given an S5 and don't really like it, but like the look of the LG G2 or 3.

The G2 is slightly smaller in physical size than the S5, but apparently the G3 is a lot bigger than the G2, is that true?

Lastly, those of you with the G2's, will you be upgrading to the G3?

Go for cheap G2 or wait for G3?

Cheers

Hi, The kitkat update seems to have improved how the phone runs a lot eg, knock on is really responsive now, better battery life, HDR mode in the camera takes better pictures etc etc.

I have never has a single freeze or any lag with with phone. My wifes Galaxy S4 on the other hand gets some choice words thrown at it a little too regularly as it freezes or the battery over heats haha.

Haven't bothered to research the G3 at all, I'm really happy with the G2.

I dont think that I personally would want a phone too much bigger than the G2, so if G3 is a lot bigger, running the same processor and android version I will stay with the G2 for now.

I dont think you can go wrong with the G2, its on the latest android, one of the best processors and screens around (S4 screen is brighter), and the back buttons feel really natural pretty quickly.

The LG software is pretty good too. There is a bit of rubbish you will never use, but some really useful apps too.

Oh and you will wonder how you ever lived without the knock on feature. I pick up my Note 8 now and automatically tap the screen and then go arrgggh why does it not turn on haha.

I am happy with G2 right now and dont really feel the need for G3. Previously i was using S3 and my biggest complaint was battery and G2 addressed quite well and quite responsive too unlike S3.

Yup agree with whats being said here. G2, for me, does the job. Bit of bloatware that comes with LG, but nothing im too fussed about. Knock on is freaking awesome (and i'm surprised other manufacturers go for radical changes but dont implement simple stuff like this), and battery life lasts a day and half with moderate to high usage.

But then again, i'm not the type to upgrade phones as soon as new model is out. End of the day, functionality, ease of use and features should outweigh the costs. and G2 does that fine :D

Hope that helps
