In NZ. Various VF peeps tweeted they were playing with it.

jeffnz: I just like his smooth voice and wanna buy this phone now

Haha I was thinking the same thing. Nik has a very sexy voice. Murray (NZtechfreak) does as well.

Beat me to it! There's very few devices in NZ at present, so all play with them is understandably supervised. I'm sure it won't be long before a system dump comes from somewhere or other - some of the new wallpapers are very nice indeed, which is quite welcome as I'm a big fan of quality stock wallpaper. The main one is available here, although not in full quality.

Any questions, sing out. It's a lovely device in person. Can't wait to get some more hands-on time.

Hahaha, amazing, thank you - there's a quote for my performance review.

There was a snazzy event at v.nue (Vodafone HQ, Viaduct Harbour) on Thursday morning. Samsung came & demo'd the phones for folks wandering through the lobby, was a great vibe with DJs & all. There's only a few really big events each year that get laypeople talking about tech, and the annual Galaxy S launch is definitely one of them.

The GALAXY S5 will be available for pre-order very soon.

I think you may be right but hopefully it will be as they say and they drop the price of the S5 so its a bit more reasonable otherwise people won't buy it.

having said that initial prices of 500 pounds pre tax from Clove in UK may prove that wrong or just grabbing margin from early adopters.
source  that would make it around $1197 NZD which is about same as S4 , pricey for what it is, or isn't depending on your view

I'm actually looking forward to seeing the price of the S5 because of their "lower price" spiel! If the premium version is the same as the S4 was, it'd almost be a bargain!

Not much mention here of the change to greyscale when battery hits 10%. This will give another purported 24 hours. I'd be happy with another 10 hours on greyscale.

Is this software or hardware related? If it's just software then I'd just wait for a port to the S4.

I would assume software in combination with the greater efficiency of the Snapdragon 800/801 SoC, so wouldn't count on it working quite as well if ported. It's quite impressive in person.

I've been looking for LTE specs on the S5 - Can't see anything definitive yet apart from Sammy saying there will be multiple models with "regional variances".  Hoping NZ model will have some LTE700 support for when Telecom and Vodafone start lighting it up later this year.

Maybe, But in my opinion I dont think it will,

One of samsungs main selling points is that there is a removable battery and a micro sd card slot.

All of the metal phones you see today by Apple, HTC etc are a sealed unibody unit. This would be difficult for Samsung as the back cover has to be removable

Most people use a case on their phones anyway, so does what its made of really matter? When you only see the front
