Not going to read all of the posts but just add my 2c.

As a die hard iPhone user I have to say Samsung has stuffed royally.

There are 3 reasons I have ever considered changing to the dark side.

1, Removable battery/Battery life

2, expandable memory.

3, Price.

I guess they just gotta be like Mike.

Its strange how it has gone all quite on the galaxy s6 front no announcement on price or release date!

Forgot the most important missing link here from the S5 the IP rating, that was a real winner for them and I was actually sooo close to going over for that.

Yeah I kind of feel like its aimed at iPhone users.

Since they mostly already don't care about removeable battery, expandable memory, price :)

I dont think so. I'd say its aimed at cost savings

Battery. Not many carry a spare. Many ways to keep a phone going. Home, work, car, battery pack, etc
Expandeable. Buy a 64Gb or 128GB phone
Price. Typically the Samsungs are priced about the same as the equivalent iPhone on launch

Its mainly about the OS, you like one or you like the other

1, Battery- No more removable battery because the new slimmer metal/glass chassis. Also the trend seems to be going Power Banks.

2, Expandable Memory- Having expandable memory via microSD would compromise the efficiency of the new UFS 2.0 storage. And they now have 64 and 128GB options.

3, Price- It's packing the latest and greatest hardware. What do you expect?

Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere, had a quick look but couldn't see anything, so here goes!

I've been keeping a close eye on reviews, news and other developments surrounding the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices that are due to launch here next month. It's time for me to upgrade from my current handset, the LG G2 and Samsung have certainly caught my attention with the S6, unlike their devices before.

Anyway, during my trawling for information on the devices, yesterday I came across both phones listed at MobiCity. I know that MobiCity doesn't include the GST component so that has to be added (got stung before when I purchased the Nexus 7, and would have worked out cheaper buying it here!) So here are the links for both the S6 and the S6 Edge.

To sum up, the S6 would cost $1011 inc GST, and the S6 Edge would be $1195 inc GST. Both are for the 32GB versions of the device. Personally, I'm looking at the 64GB Edge, and I'll be expecting to pay around $1300 inc GST when it's released.

Edit: Just had a look around the pages and if you click on "Specs" you can look at the pricing for the 64 and 128GB handsets. As suspected the 64GB Edge will come in just over $1300 inc GST, while the 128GB version will set you back about $1425 inc GST.

If the prices increased for the latest and greatest, then phones would now be $5000 due to year on year increases. Typically the phones are similar prices every year.
To me, SS is saving money, and increasing prices, which given their recent results needs to happen.

Not really, I am stating that in my opinion Samsung has changed what made them Samsung and the best reasons to change to them.

Yes Apple went bigger but, again in my opinion that was a positive, Samsung have removed good features, and in my opinion the best ones!

The only positive is the removal of the BS bloatware.

Replaceable battery let me keep a S3 going for ages - Capacity is well down at 9 months and getting near useless at 12. Replace it with another and back to as new.

When you have to pay an absurd amount to get a known genuine one installed, or else risk phone repair kiosk people using dodgey ones or open it yourself and put in one that you are told is genuine but you have no real way to know it becomes more of a hassle. I can see that getting people to replace phones when battery life becomes crap is in their interests tho.

They should just make a good battery to start with. My last good brand smart phone I owned for four years didn't have any significant battery fade, and still lasted ages when I eventually gave it away.

They should just make a good battery to start with. My last good brand smart phone I owned for four years didn't have any significant battery fade, and still lasted ages when I eventually gave it away.

Learn to look after your battery. Run a full discharge cycle for the first couple of uses, then never over charge - about three hours a day is all that is required. Overnight charging at 8+ hours every night will kill your battery in time.

Not really, I am stating that in my opinion Samsung has changed what made them Samsung and the best reasons to change to them.

The only positive is the removal of the BS bloatware.

None of you reasoning add or subtract from the user experience which is generally what it's all about, Samsung still deliver on that regard, as a diehard apple user you will know better than most that removable battery and expandable memory are quite easy to live without (excluding cheaparses who don't buy appropriate capacity devices in the first place)

When Samsung thinks they can successfully compete in the marketplace without a Google based OS then that is when they have stuffed themselves royally

I'm very impressed by the build quality of the new A5, so the S6 should be a stunner. It looks like Samsung were listening - well, partially, we're still stuck with touchwiz )-:
