My problem is I don't really NEED a 128GB, a 64 would be enough, and the 128GB is SO expensive. $1440 AUD! I don't know if I want to spend that on a phone!

Agreed. I've been living off a 32GB for 2 years now, so I think that with the unlimited storage offer, it should be enough. Hard to justify them extra gigs for so much more cash.

It's actually $1419 but that's still $1528 NZD which is a lot. I paid less than that for my note 7 which is superior in every way.

My note 5 is 32GB and I've made do with that for 18 months. I have to be careful recording video, but I have survived.

The Sony XZ is the other consideration but it's only FHD!

Why the Sony? It's such average phone in all regards. OP3 would be better, or even the LG V20

Is this based on your actual usage of the phone or just what you have seen with some of the reviews??

despite the Sony XZ having 3 gig of RAM, it turned out to be as fast if not faster than HTC 10 and S7E.

Is that you're only determining factor when considering the Sony?

How about rather than making 2 sets of casual unqualified (as in you have provided no specifics) comments), you actually say what your beef with them is exactly? How are they demonstrably worse?

The screens on Sony's I have seen in the past 2-3 years have been Amazing.

that plus there are other factors. SD card, water resistant, and price over pixel. but most importantly usability without lag over Samsung is my considering factor. I am using note 5 for work and it lags a lot. I never witnessed lag with z3c as I did with the note 5.

Back on topic:-

Has any Kiwi managed to get a Pixel or Pixel XL yet (or a confirmed order). If so, from where and for how much?

I really appreciated the 2 Degrees offer last year (for the 6P). I wonder if they will be able to do the same for the Pixel?

Going by their  price of $499 for the Moto G4  plus the pixel will be expensive.  Guess 32 Gig model $1250..

Just doing some quick math..

Jb hifi AU lists Pixel 32gb as $1080aud. Take AU gst off, and that's $980aud / $1050nzd, add NZ gst back on makes it ~$1200. So yeah, probably $1200-1300

Doing the same thing for the Pixel XL 32GB comes out as ~$1400

And if you really want to light your wallet on fire, Pixel XL 128GB looks to be ~$1600. For a phone. Ouch.

Same price as the S7 128gb, and Note7. Note 7 superior in every way bar one for my money.

Still trying to decide whether to get one.
