gehenna: Are you up to date?
There was an update available last night which listed "Improved camera performance" as a change, but it didn't seem to make any appreciable difference.
I have noticed some camera lag in the last 48hrs or so. Mostly launching and closing the camera, rather than using the camera. I've had to sleep and wake the screen a couple of times to get back to the home screen. I imagine this is a bug that will be patched imminently as it was all working fine until very recently.
psychrn:Im an old galaxy Note User I think from the S1 even.
Currently have a Huawei P30 pro and have had it nearly 2 years. Love the camera and I manage a large FB group that is devoted on the camera.
mainly interested in the Camera Specs and performance.
I am looking at the 21 Ultra for camera specs and the android non availability on the huawei p40 and above.
Has anyone switched from the Huawei P30 pro just for the camera.
Id be keen on opinions and views.

I went to the CBD today and was happy as I'd test 5G... but my S21 Ultra didn't connect to the 5G network. Does anybody know if I need to do anything?

You shouldn't have to do anything.
Some questions;
Do you have 5G enabled on your account?
Which carrier are you with?
Was your phone not showing 5G in the top right corner?
Is 5G enabled in the network settings? Have you checked this?
1. hmmm... I just looked it over (I'm with Spark) and there is no mention of 5G on my Plan. But I couldn't find any "5G" specific plan either.

3. No, it wasn't showing 5G on top. It was showing 4G+, though.
4. Yes, 5G is enabled.
Edit: Added picture

This is the speedtest I did yesterday at the bottom of Queen St, 21 Ultra, Skinny. I didn't do anything to the phone apart from stick the sim in it.

I've had my Galaxy S10 (Snapdragon) since launch and I've always been extremely happy with the quality of the 4k30 HDR video that it churns out. So when I purchased my wife a Galaxy S21 (Exynos) recently, the first thing I did was set her camera to the same video quality. However, there is unacceptable lag and stuttering when shooting in this video mode. The whole camera app seems to grind to a halt, the framerate drops to 10fps, and the video appears to record for a good 5 seconds after pressing stop. Clearly it is not coping at all. I'm hoping that this just a bad firmware bug that is going to get patched soon rather than something more sinister. Can anyone confirm similar findings on their devices?
When I disable HDR, everything is fine, so that is the mode we use for now. But it's not right that my 2-year-old S10 can shoot visibly superior video when compared to the S21. Perhaps I just need to do a system reset?
i've compared hdr and std video modes on the s10 and the hdr is gimmick - blows up the highlights and crushes the shadows and more jerky. rubbish. not sure about s21 as don't own one

My comments and remarks are not necessarily of my employer.

You really need a decent TV with actual 10-bit HDR support to appreciate the difference. HDR10+ videos on the Galaxy S10 (at least on the Snapdragon variant) are incredible.

P30 Pro user until last week, couldn't go to P40 or wait for P50 for same reason as need Google services without the hassles, have been looking for last 6 months for upgrade that had better or equal camera performance, not disappointed with the S21 Ultra. Preferred the weight and dimensions of P30 Pro but overall loving my first Samsung experience and apart from from difficulty learning how best to utilise the macro feature, very much happy.
