heavenlywild: Let's be realistic. 5g won't be everywhere for some years. I think I also need to be realistic as to whether I really need 5g.

So I'd be happy with a 1.5k phone with 3g and 4g at this moment :)

I'll ask PI if they will stick the 512gb pro version.

Agreed if I can get the Pixel 6 at a reasonable price pro non pro I'll go for it, so far it looks like a really good mobile and I'm so used to the vanilla Android experience and want to go back after using a work Sammy S20 FE

Had a chat with Mightyape who's now listing the Pixel 6 https://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/google-pixel-6-5g-256gb-8gb-ram-stormy-black/35342336

They confirmed that they will be listing the Pixel 6 Pro too in the coming few days/weeks.

Also noticed Parallel Imported NZ is selling both the 6 and the 6 pro

Just been looking at reviews of this phone from the US and UK and they all seem very positive . The annoying thing is they keep comparing it to the iPhone 13 Pro especially the camera.  Would love to buy this phone but the NZ pricing is way over my budget.  Looks like my next phone will be the Sammy A52s 5G at about $700

Did they mention 5G compatibility for NZ networks?

Only in the name Google Pixel 6 5G.  Nothing in the specs.

PI just messaged me saying they are waiting for confirmation for the 512GB Pro version. Glad they are looking to import the highest end version.

How or where do you get replies from them? Neither of their phone lines appear to work, nor is there chat ever seemingly available.

Makes me nervous about buying from them, but I don't want to miss out on 256 (or 512) Pro variants and Mighty Ape are dragging their heels

I have found their online help quite useful. I left a message yesterday and they responded today.

I haven't called them ever as they are quite responsive on chat or messages.

Assuming you mean ParallelImported by PI? Never purchased through them before. Just wondering how reliable they are and if you've had previous purchasing experience with them?

Looking at reviews the video quality is embarrassing.

I also placed an order on JBHIFI Au, sending it to my cousin in sydney and will get him to post it to me, or if i can book DHL to pick it up from him for me that would be great. 1647NZD for the 512GB Pixel 6 pro. with GST and shipping to nz should be about 1900NZD all up, for the highest end Model. im happy!

It has already been shipped from JB today.

If anyone is concerned regarding compatibility, here's the official google list of Pixel models and the 5G standard they work with.

https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/10082009#learn_which_phones

So if 5G is a must, one must confirm with the PI shop the exact Model ID before purchasing.

AFAIK, even if the phone you get from AU meets the NZ 5G requirements, the service provider has to support Pixel 6/6 Pro, otherwise the settings won't get pushed/activated to your phone.
