@networkn: I just ordered a S25U and traded my wifes S21 Ultra and she will get my S24 Ultra, all for a change over of $934, which was hard to turn down.

If I don't love the S25U, I may sell it and try the Oneplus, once it's sold by a retailer I have some confidence in honouring it's warranty, ie PBTech.

I think the Oneplus 13 looks insane and I really think it's probably a better phone for the money, but overall, with my wife wanting an upgrade too, it made more sense to go down this path.

That's not bad at all. Best I could get down to was a little over $1200 for the S25U trading in an S22U (EPP pricing). At ~$900 or less I would certainly consider making it happen. To trade-in the wife's S21 5G 256G would make the overall price $1500, and she'd keep my S22U. I have some thinking to do.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

It would have been a $334 change over if I had swapped my S24U, and that was $50 more because my $150 voucher only redeemed at $100 as of 6am and they wouldn't honour it.

If I could guarantee a $300 change over to a new flagship as a subscription, I'd be all over it.

Works out perfectly then!

I grabbed jet black. I liked all the colours but black is timeless.

Interested to hear case choices from those that purchased.

I've always been a UAG fan for the protection it offers.

Have a UAG Monarch on my S22U and it did me good, even after dropping on pavement while exiting a vehicle. Just searching for other (cheaper) options.

Wife had an Otterbox Symmetry on hers but I'm considering the Torras for her this time. Seems to offer the same level of protection (3x Military Grade standard) at a slightly cheaper price point. Anyone have experience with this brand?

I have this on my S24U, no complaints, although it feels slippery due to the smooth matte surface on it and the buttons are changeable (they come with extra sets of buttons).

Got it from PB when they were on special at about $29

As much as I love new gadgets, I'm going to stick with my S21U until it dies. Battery isn't what it used to be but it still does everything I need well and the camera is more than sufficient for my needs.

I miss the 10X optical from my s21U. I upgraded to the S24U as I had managed to destroy my screen and the $600 replacement seemd a bit much

Thanks all. The S25U is an improvement over the S22U (which SWMBO will now take over, an upgrade to her S21), and therefore I've been allowed to pre-order an S25U in Black. I am apparently a very lucky chap, and shall do any extra chores as instructed and without complaint (I failed to elicit an end date to this clause, which may have been a rather silly thing to do on my part)

Nice! If only Galaxy AI could do those chores for you somehow, you'd be set :D

I'm also changing from the S22U to S25U. I used to have the S21U but it developed a camera fault and the part was going to take ages due to COVID, so Samsung just offered to credit it for a S22U. I was very happy with that. Although even the S21U was a massive upgrade over my last phone before that, the Note 3.

Don't worry Stu, the pitch is always a work in progress. As for forgetting to agree on an end date, perhaps you can ask AI for help there!

The main thing is you got what you asked for. Now that's a win.

I am on the S23U and I just cannot justify upgrading yet, despite wanting so. There's not enough new to make the leap even at $900 after trade in.

Upgrading from S21U to S25U.  Went with the pre-order deal at One NZ.  Yes, I know it's not the cheapest but I can pay it over the next 3 years which I'm happy to do.

I wouldn't necessarily have upgraded this year but my S21U has also developed a camera fault.  The fault being that at some point it got dropped and broke the 1x camera so it struggles to focus, often requiring a tap or two to get it to work.  Aside from that, the battery was starting to get near the point of not having enough life for normal use.  Probably could have gone another year if it wasn't for the camera fault.

As for cases, I've previously used LifeProof and then Otterbox.  Lately though I've been using Quadlock and a screen protector due to the mounting more than the protection.

I was going to move from s24 Ultra to Fold 7 if they improved the cameras.

What did you not like about the fold that made you go back to the Ultra?
