Also, can I confirm that the ELF or Aurora unit is running Flash ok?

ie is this suitable for iSKY, TVNZ on demand etc?
That's actually what I'm hoping my unit will be used for.

S7 Slim is back for $250 at the warehouse.

XT, so will it work on Vodafone/2deg?  or is it locked to 850MHz of XT?
Or do we care?

Has GPS and Bluetooth, 2 things typically missing from China Tablets.

All good really, just 512MB RAM and not an HD IPS screen which the Aurora offers for less.

HP touchpad running android is really good, I reccomend it. I imagine a 7 " tablet may be too small. the HP screen is really nice (ips) system very responsive, good video playback, and should get long term cyanogen support. only downside is no GPS or 3g.

Nearly all chinas lack 3g and gps too without some silly external adapter.

Just where to get a cheap hp touch pad is all now?. . . .

I cancelled my order, it seems that the aurora had a faulty screen / dead pixels & the aurora 2 is around the corner with LG screens.

guess i will just get a Samsung or something after waiting 2 months

Yeah Aurora can't meet demand by a long way, so I've given up on that. Looks the business, but there are others now. Just need to ensure whatever you with has support from the forums etc, otherwise you are stuck with whatever it comes with.

I'm looking to get a cheap android tablet to get my son off his sister's iPad...

Are the  Ainol ones any good? - Do the Paladin ones run flash with the new update? (they are at expansys.co.nz for $170 delivered) or would I be better getting a newer/better version from pandawall or somewhere?

Or are there any others for sale in NZ that would be better for $200 or cheaper?

I've had a look back through the thread but there doesn't seem to be much consensus.

 Thanks!

For less than the Zenithink you could get HP Touchpad, Dual Core 1Ghz 2nd hand around $250 at a guess on trademe.

Pros are: better build quality / gps / faster / high quality IPS screen / lots of 3rd party developer support
Cons : no SD card slot / No 3G data Sim card slot.
