dafman: Also, the display phone I saw in Telecom already had a scratch on the back. I hate cases as I think they destroy the design aesthetics, so which is the most invisible uber-thin case for protecting the back from scratches?

For just scratch protection I was thinking about one of those screen-protector style full cover coating things - but I'm still a bit wary to go buy one - I don't see many of them around so would like an opinion from someone who has used one before first!

I am struggling to say goodbye to my HTC One, but I can't keep both my S4 and My One, so I will need to let it go.

Anyone want a HTC one that is a week old, purchased from JBHIFI. $940 and I'll throw in a set of Marley Revolution over ear headphones free of charge. I am in Auckland.

Why have you decided to fall on the S4 side in the end? Does it just "work" better without small operational glitches that the HTC seems to be prone to? Does that top button "wake up" function annoy you or is that easily learned?
I am sitting on the fence deciding where to fall. After having used a Galaxy S2 to record a concert I know the Samsungs don't perform well in that regard but that is not a deal breaker.

It gets down to personal preference as both are top of the range and have pluses and minuses.

People go a bit tribal when they feel their choice is under fire but at the end of the day its healthy for us consumers to have this sort of choice.

It's a multiple of factors. Overall I think the HTC is a better phone, but there are things which are very frustrating with it.

1) Power Button Placement and usage. (BIG annoyance)
2) Lack of SD Card
3) Minor annoyance of non replaceable battery
4) It's heavier and doesn't seem as comfortable to hold as the S4
5) I already own accessories for the S3/S4 I'd need to replace
6) Battery life seems better on the S4.
7) Custom ROM development will be better on the S4 due to it's larger customer base.

ok serious rethink on this phone now. Was very keen to start with. And after all the problems with supply not sure now. Had ordered and paid full price with Noel leeming on 21 March. After emails they finally rang on saturday and refused to just send a vodafone one out but said they would contact me Monday with update on HTC One xt. Well I just rang them and they have a new update from Telecom that it is delayed again and no estimate of delivery. I asked again about supply of Vodafone one at a discount but they wouldnt budge and said refund then charge full retail. So in the end I told them just cancel the whole order and refund the full amount.
So I have a case for the phone but no phone. So rethink whether to still get the hTC after this debacle

no twice on the phone NL refused to give discount on the Vodafone version even after I paid full price almost 2 months ago.
