I am now an owner of an HTC One :)

I wanted to buy from a Telecom retail, but none in my area (Wellington) had any in stock, although Lambton Quay was supposedly getting some in later today.

I got mine from Dick Smith, they said what we all know, it was the hardest phone to stock out of the 3 biggest hitters right now, GS4, HTC One and Xperia Z. They were also implying (I think) that Telecom was a bit iffy about them selling them.

Anyway, the good and surprisingly part was, I got a sim free and $50 credit. Im on 2Degrees but might just use the data or something.

Asked to open the box up in store so I could look at the gap problem, maybe a slight gap, but nothing to worry about.

:)

I've had a quick look back 10-15 pages but maybe someone can give me a quick answer.

Is there any difference in the XT and VF versions of the one? Specifically I would like to know if I can use VF 4G if I change to VF later in the year?

Thanks in advance,

heavenlywild: The declared value + freight is what they calculate the GST on.

Thanks heavenlywild.

I am considering getting one from exeltek in Aussie and they only use DHL.

You will also probably have to pay a Import entry transaction fee of  NZ$38.07 incl GST
see http://www.whatsmyduty.org.nz/

No difference. Yes, you will be able to use Vodafone's 4G network once Telecom releases the update to the phone in around October.

Why not wait until Queen's Birthday and the 20% off sale? It'll end up being cheaper, and you will have local warranty mate.

As for a screen protector, don't do it

I have the spigen ultra thin air on my HTC One its lovely, adds a bit of thickness, can feel a bit of movement in as it not 100% snug fit.  Thats a good thing as everyone who picks up my phone pulls the case off!

Once we get some cases I can go and look at in a physical store this case is a keeper.

Where did you get your case from? How much did it cost? I am looking to get one like now! How does it fit on the One. Will it protect from drops?

Those probably don't have any gap issues.

I've had my eye on the One for some time now. I'm not too worried about the delays as the CFO won't approve a purchase request for the capital expenditure in the current fiscal environment (the wife won't let me spend the money until after our daughter's school trip to Japan in September).

I did get to have a play at the Telecom shop in Queensgate (Lower Hutt) on the weekend but I noted the warning sign next to the display model which said they had no stock as of Sunday. Having it in my hand for five minutes only made me want it more...
