I might be able to assist here, my last phone was an Xperia Z3...great phone that I was initially very happy with, however after a few weeks cracking appeared in the rear glass panel near the camera which was disappointing given the main reason I purchased it was for the watertightness. I might add that I didn't have the phone in a case for those first few weeks, however the phone was never dropped. Rear panel was replaced and phone was sealed in a nice Spigen Ultra Hybrid case....all was going well for about a month when more cracks appeared on the replacement rear panel (again the phone was not dropped or subjected to any force. At that point I started looking for a phone that didn't use glass as the primary component for the structure of the phone hence the Nexus 6P was the obvious choice. So far so good (no cracks as yet) an it hasn't bend in two like certain videos would have you believe. As a side, despite the Z3 and 6P sharing Sony camera sensors (albeit 20MP versus 12MP) the Nexus actually takes a better photo...not sure if the Z3 and Z5 sensors are the same.

Thanks. I have looked at some picture comparisons. Surprised that the Nexus ones look better to my eyes, than the Z5.
I was keen on the watertight capabilities, but not sure how often that would be a useful factor in my usage situation. That seems to be the only real pro for the Z5 against the 6P.

Coming from the Nexus 5 (which was a great phone) the Nexus 6P really trumps all the android phones I've tried, that's including the Nexus 5x and Note 5.

It took me a while to decide getting this because of the hefty price tag on it, but once I did, I've never been happier. Long battery life, amazing camera, great speakers, Pure Android experience :)

You are truly getting a premium phone. It might lack some extra bells and whistles but I believe every phone does.

The Verge thinks so too here

MattEast: They had about 3 in each store apart from the CHC store...plus about 30 at head office...check stock at http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z=p&p=MPPSGP11797&name=Spigen-Nexus-6P-Case-Rugged-Armor-Black-SGP11797

That's the case im wanting but PB are charging 11.50 shipping. Was the packaging for it huge or something?

Not all all, marginally bigger than the actual case itself (standard Spigen black and orange cardboard box)...$11.50 seems a bit excessive, is that for same day delivery or something?

Thats south island shipping. but still it should fit in a $5 bag. I sent them an email to see if there was an error.

Finally got my case from TradeMe. It's nicer than I thought. Nice smooth rubber matt black finish. It will protect the back from scuffs and scratches and maybe even shocks, but the front, top and bottom are quite exposed.

Just grabbed the last of the Spigen cases from PBTech Wellington.

Seems pretty nice, certainly makes the phone less slippery, can actually take photos now without holding the phone in both hands!

Agreed it is a good case and yes it is exposed, but it held up fine while my Spigen was in transit...

Speaking of which, received the Spigen this morning and it's definitely a step up in the protection department ie. all sides covered, soft tpu material which should absorb knocks more and it's not a fingerprint magnet unlike the TM case. VERY Happy and well worth the NZD$35 I paid for it from eBay.

This is the first time in my last 3 phones I have actually felt the need for a case (Galaxy S3, Nexus 5, Galaxy Note 4), but that back is just so slippery!

You've just convinced me to get the Spigen case :) No harm in having two cases right?

Did the Spigen case from PB Tech come with a screen protector by any chance? That's next on the list.

It didn't come with one, but there is a Spigen one that isn't yet available at PBTech (it's listed, but showing none in-stock), about $20 from memory. The case seems to give the screen some protection with its raised edge, but the screen protector for scratches etc is not a bad idea.
