The order still says "order placed" , not even preparing for disptach. did yours stay on "order placed" until it was shipped?

Keep in mind that Auckland is under level 3.  Chch pb tech was not confident that the phones would be here on release day.

I'm a bit pee'd at pbtech, they put down the 17th as the date it would be sent however they updated this now to TBC (as of late last week after charging the credit card).  I just wish they would put down the real release date and if they can send them out before release that's great but don't say a date if it's not confirmed you can do it.

At least you aren't buying through VF, my last 3 phones delivery dates have been days or weeks after the rest of the country gets theirs.

First world problems I guess. Far more important things in life but yes it is annoying when you pay so much and the dates change like that. I'm one of the lucky ones this time and have received my phone this morning. It's the Note 20 Ultra. I'm in Auckland. Funnily enough, the case hasn't arrived (ordered separately). Last time I got the case and had to wait a week for the phone. Fun times. :) Gluck to the rest of you. It's just a phone at the end of the day.

- no case in the box

- feels a lot better in hand than the chunky S20 Ultra (my opinion)

- yes camera bump is big but everyone who orders is accepting of this I suppose

I went and picked a case out at PBtech this afternoon for when mine turns up and had a play with the ultra and holy heck that camera bump is huge! Samsung could of sold that thing separately it’s that big, way more so then the plain Jane Note 20. If anyone asks it’s the new feature kick stand.

Beautiful phone nonetheless and I can’t wait now (wasn’t too fussed to get it straightaway) I kinda wish I went with the bronze but I don’t do colors on smartphones always black.

Yes it looks thick. Guessing it increases the effective thickness of the phone by quite a bit. Guess we can blame apple for the camera bumps, as they made it fashionable, but their ones are not as thick as this . But IMO it is a design compromise. Jerryrigeverythiong referred to it as Samsung attaching a piece of lego to the back of the phone. It is that thick. Nice phone, but no huge improvement over the last few models IMO compared to price.

It's similar in hight to the S20 ultra.

Keep in mind the module takes up essentially the same space.
The Note is around 8.1mm thick where the S20 ultra is 8.8mm.

That plus the fact the S20 ultra almost had a ridge that builds up to it and is less dramatic. I think these makes the camera bump look comparitively larger when truthfully it's about the same.

If you put them side by side you'd see. I'll try get some photos tomorrow.

My PB order says awaiting goods, oh well such is life

Seen a few battery drain tests now, seems like the adaptive refresh isn't making a whole lot of difference

So, weirdest thing, usually when there is a new shiny toy, and particularly a smartphone, even if I say I can't justify it, don't think it's compelling enough, etc etc, by the time a day or two from release comes around, I've ordered one, and am waiting impatiently for mine. I am clicking refresh constantly on the courier delivery page etc and getting antsy as others describe their experiences. This time I am not at all that worried. I didn't pre-order, and with the sole exception of the 120hz phone, not sure I see any reason to move from my Note 10..

I think I might be maturing...

Or having a stroke.. Call a doctor!
