TG09:

Pre-ordered my first Ultra phone, moving from Fold 5.

I was going to move from s24 Ultra to Fold 7 if they improved the cameras.

What did you not like about the fold that made you go back to the Ultra?

Love the Fold,  had a 4 and 5, after a few years the screen protectors comes away from the middle of the fold when opened up. Then you have to send it off to a place and wipe all your data before hand, to get it done under warrenty.

So i didnt have to send it away, just traded for the Fold 5. Was going to wait for the Fold 7, heard it might be a bit bigger heard it might have a better camera, just didnt want to wait only to find it will be very simlair to  what i have.

That's why i went back to a non-fold phone.

Mine changed to 'Awaiting Dispatch' this morning on the Samsung website.

From my many purchases at Samsung previously, the package is usually sent the same day or the next working day once it's awaiting dispatch (if it was processed before 12pm, then usually same day).

In this case however, they may adhere to the preorder dates and only send it on the 4th.

Edit: Wording has also changed now regarding shipping date.

It was previously 'Start shipping from 04/02/2025'.

Now it says 'Get it by 04/02/2025'.

Maybe they will send it today.

Is that for the standard? I ordered an Ultra for myself that shows shipping from 05/02 and order S25 for my Mum and it shows 11/02

The stupid site won't open my order. I sat on chat for 40 minutes to be told they don't answer those questions and go to the forums, fill out an email form, or call the 0800 number.

The person on the phone said 28th of Feb!

I'm on the phone asking for clarification.

I found that if you ordered on the EPP store, you have to go back on the EPP portal to 'open' the order details.

The order will still show on the normal store, but it will just hang when you try to expand the order details.

Thanks, good tip.

So after much naffing around, they finally confirmed the date isn't the 28th, it will ship on the 5th, and will take 7-10 business days to arrive.

I am guessing they are ass covering, so hopefully it arrives earlier.

Usually next day delivery once it ships if you're in Auckland.

Does anyone here fully understand what's going on with the wireless charging on the S25? I'm getting mixed messages from articles about whether the S25 has magnets for Qi2 charging, or if you need the special case for that? I bought a silicone case and a magnetic case as part of my order - I'm guessing/assuming that I need the magnetic case to be able to attach magnetic Qi2 accessories, is that right?

I've had Items ship and be delivered from Texas to Auckland faster than items shipped from Newmarket to me in Grey Lynn.

I'll take all delivery estimates with a healthy amount of scepticism. That way I can be happily surprised.

Magnet case is my understanding
