Krishant007: i have ordered these cases for my One:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BJN6WYK/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Had Otterbox on my s2, was ok but I decided I didn't like it in the end: too bulky, and the rubber inside was a bugger for always collecting dust and dirt. If I'd been working outside maybe...

Looks good though. Bit bulky for me though.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C9Q1WC8/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That looks pretty cool.. Bit too showy for me though. Still, tempting.

I also have the Rock case from ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Rock-Back-Hard-Ultra-Thin-Shell-Cover-Case-Fo-HTC-One-M7-801e-6445LVW-32GB-/121099854501?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item1c321d22a5

But i didnt like this one much... you can have it for 10 bucks if you want it? It is a hard plastic and it doesnt offer much protection if you decide to drop the phone on concrete or tiles. But does protect against scratches and stuff .

It looks all right at first glance, but i think it'd be a bit slippery itself. Thanks for the offer, but I'd like something with a bit more grip.

Thanks for showing me some options though!

bradstewart: I ordered the Rock slim case for about $8 on eBay ($30+ on TradeMe) and it arrived yesterday from HK, 7 days after ordering. It's slim, looks great and actually makes the phone easier to hold. Really stands out in a bright green/yellow.

There's some characters on trademe for sure.

Any URL?

Hollidog:
Brendan: I realize this has been talked about previously, but is there any consensus on good cases for the One yet, available in NZ now?

I am thinking of either a slim case protecting the back, or a full case protecting the front and back (a leather notebook style flip case - not the wallet/book style).

URL's?

Currently have these on my short list:
NILLKIN HTC One (M7) - Frosted Shield | Trade Me
HTC One IMAK Hard Case + Screen Protector | Trade Me
HTC One M7 Leather Flip Case&SP | Trade Me

A
ny better ideas?

I have the Nillikin case that you have linked. I think it is great, nice fit, doesnt add too much bulk, etc. God openings for all the ports, nice lip over the front so that the glass doesnt touch a surface which you rest it on. I would recommend this case,

I had the S3 version of this case in red, and quite liked it. Went back to it after trying a casemate case from JBHIFI - which kept breaking (too many thin bits of plastic around the ports on that case, pity it was nice).

But I might try something new. I've got this nice looking phone, and if I have to put a case around it (scared not to), I'd like it to complement it.

Still not convinced about the imak but looking.

though that IMAK case you have linked looks the business also.

I have pictures posted a few pages back, Ill see if I can dig it up and post the links.

EDIT http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=114440&page_no=79

It looks pretty good to actually, just like the s3 one I have.

Been thinking of getting a cheaper case and just waiting until the aluminium cases come out. Might suit the phone better.

Finch: Repost...

Earlier today I went through the HTC Setup process on my laptop, set up ringtones/wallpaper, selected the apps I wanted to install. The settings haven't been applied to my phone and I see no notification to apply them like it says on the website. I am signed in with my HTC account and then Sync Now option cannot be clicked.

I have verified my email address and still nothing?

Please help :)

I had exactly the same problem. Ended up calling HTC Support - twice. First time the guy was helpful but could not understand my issue and said he would call me back. Waited an hour and nothing. Called again and the second guy was basically hopeless but finally I understood he was trying to tell me that their server is not quick and the notification you refer to may take a while to come. Mine eventually arrived (30 - 60 minutes iirc) and everything was OK.

Good looking case and appears very similar to Case-Mate Barely There that I was so enamoured with but cost me $39 to get from Clove. Sirry Iriot, Cookie Boy.

So after having a brief play on my phone two of the partners in my firm had decided to get Ones. Seems their contracts with telecom had just come up and they were due new phones. They were both previously using HTC wildfire A's I believe. Seems telecom don't have any problem sourcing them for their corporate customers.

They were pretty excited to get their new toys and I was immediately set the task of seeing them up for them as we don't have an in house IT guy. Having only done the setup from an iPhone on a PC, I went to the tips and help app in my phone and there was a video in they on how to do it. Was a very clever bit of software I have to say, the first one connected to the hotspot and downloaded the app no problem and everything was across in a matter of minutes. However with the second one I faced a bit more difficulty.

I could connect to the hotspot fine but I could not connect to the play store no matter what I tried. In the end I had to put my SIM in his phone was download it that way. Once that was all done I thought she was cheese and crackers, but not all of his contacts came over, I believe it was because some of them were on the SIM and some were on the phone.

No matter, they were both stoked with their new devices and that I was able to set the up for them. Spent the next hour teaching them how to toggle settings and downloading apps that I thought they would find useful.

So far I have been setting up my One without putting the Telecom NZ sim from my HOX in it. But I am beginning to wonder if the handset I have got is actually an XT one at all. The startup splashscreens don't have the Telecom 'pot-scrubber' emblem like my HOX does and there is no 'MyTelecom' or Y!World icons once it is started. I am pretty sure those features are part of the firmware and nothing to do with the sim.
The firmware version is 1.29.980.2 which shows up as a VF AU version when I do a 'net search. My XT HOX firmware is X.XX.781.X
The receipt I got from NL says it is an HTC One XT, but what are the chances I have been given a VF One instead? And if that is the case is there a downside?
If it needs repair, the first thing they will notice is that it isn't running XT firmware.
I also want 4G when it is available on Telecom.

Can GZers who have XT or VF handsets please confirm what firmware they are running so I can at least know where I stand. And I know it is previously mentioned in this thread but I can't find it, How do you check if the handset has a 4G radio?

I have the exact same firmware as you mate. Telecom has disabled LTE/4G via firmware and when they do launch 4G in October the 4G radio will be unlocked.

There's no Telecom bloatware whatsoever in the HTC One and it's AWESOME!

Hey given you are a XT user can you please confirm the following

mrgsm021: I can confirm the XT version of the One which I ordered from Warehouse red alert has LTE enabled under network mode - GSM/WCDMA/LTE with a Vodafone sim card although I didn't pay the extra $10 to get LTE activated but would imagine it would work if I did (I am in Auckland).

Does GSM/WCDMA/LTE show up under your network mode?

Im beginning to think that Telecom didn't lock anything.

Cheers buddy. I waited hours and nothing, so I reset the phone and just started from scratch and it worked.

When you checked your missed calls, is there a way to text that person from the dialer?
(i.e. in samsung phones you just swipe the name left or right which gives you an option of calling that person or text).
At the moment, I have to go to dialer to check the missed calls and then go out of it, then go messaging app to text.

I am sure this option should be incorporated into dialer.

I have the XT model with a Telecom SIM and network modes do not list LTE. It's listed in a special settings menu though (can't remember the code to access it, but Google would show).
