Finch: When I use the in built Video player to play a movie, its out of sync, but when I use an external player (Currently using ES File Explorer Media Player) its in sync.

Is this normal or...?

HTCs inbuilt players have never been up to much.

Dice Player and MX Player are the ones to get :)

Cheers mate. Just got MxPlayer 15 mins or so ago and so far so good :)

Dingbatt: I hope Telecom launches their LTE without the price premium that VF has.

If they do I'd be switching for sure... Vodafone seem to have the least bang for buck on the plans at the moment.

In settings set the software decoder to S/W+ decoder, works better on Snapdragon devices (S/W+ allows me to play a 40MB/s HDDVD demo that I have in my batch of test files, which is quite impressive).

For hardware decoding Dice Player is better, which is why I keep both on my devices.

For both of them you will need an external codec to decode DTS audio if that's an issue, you can find the codecs at XDA.

Expert reviews say that its possible to open on the stock android screen rather than BlinkFeed. They say: "Most importantly, you can set a standard Android home screen as your default screen (the one that appears when you unlock the handset). BlinkFeed is still there, sitting to the left of the default screen, while your other home screens are off to the right."

Is this correct?

yep this is true!

Picked up a handset yesterday. Didnt recharge it last night after playing on it/trying to sort out contacts and stuff so started today on 53% battery. Probably wont be using it as much as others here; just wifi at uni and the odd turning on of data here and there. Seems like it could last until tonight

When I first bought the phone, I noticed that the screen was slightly elevated above the speaker grill (top part of the screen). At the time I didn't think it was going to be a big problem so I just decided to use it.

But I've been using the phone for a while now (11 days) and it's really starting to annoy me (every time I pull down the notification bar and etc, I can feel a distinct gap between the screen and the speaker grill).

Do you think it is too late to get a replacement that I've used it for more than 10 days? or is it within my rights to ask for a replacement?

Cheers

Pinch to zoom in on the home screen, then hold the screen down you want to make your home and drag it to the top left "Set as home"

Is that what you mean..?

I cant stand any longer for this, da damn gap, what a joke with Telecom live chat:
" Kasie: I believe the gap is part of the design by HTC One
Kidd Liu: You got be kidding me, the said HTC ONE is zero gap!!!
Kasie: personally I have not yet seen the HTC One. But I have been advised that the gap is part of the design"

Absolutely correct.

and add up to four screens. I prefer to get used to a phones feature set then if i don't like it i replace the rom/launcher till i'm happy. one of those features is the customisable app launcher. instead of treating it like just an alphabetical list of apps, i set to custom (drag down slight at top and select on left menu). Then i've moved all the apps around including grouping a few and have just about no icons on my home screens. instead i dedicate home screen to widgets.
it didn't quite feel 'normal android' to start with but i'm loving it now. it has grown on me.

so much to play with on this phone its brilliant!

oh and just received the INCIPIO cases 'feather SHINE' and 'feather'. Very very happy with them, so the feather shine is an aluminium finish so i don't feel like i've lost my htc one feel. the 'feather' one is a bright as colour for something differen't.

as i said, recommend the product. straight from their own website. fedex tracked, all good.

cheers

With all this talk of homescreens, I'm curious what does everyone else's look like?

Here's mine.

Here's mine, its WIP. Mostly copied it off my iPhone homescreen for some familiarity. Will probably get around to some folders etc when I can work out what I want to go where.

I really like your clock app Brad, which one is that? It looks like the same one from the lockscreen but I cant set mine as that in the widgets panel

[Mod edit (MF): please upload to Geekzone and post the resized image. Also the dropbox link you posted had a 403 meaning no one could see it]

It's the 4x1 weather clock. I installed a transparent version of the stock one.

Somebody over at XDA modified the stock one.

I've uploaded the apk to my Dropbox: http://db.tt/lwqmKnd2.

It goes in /system/app but since I'm not rooted I did an adb install (normally installing on the phone didn't work).
