As some of you may know, I bought a GNex earlier this week. However, I didn't get a SIM for it until today (my old phone was CDMA), due mostly to working two jobs. Then I rang Telecom, got them to transfer my old number over, and waited for it to process etc.

My problem is that I can send and receive texts and calls, but I have no internet.

Mobile Data is on, Settings->About Phone->Status shows service state as in service, but mobile network state as disconnected, and phone number as unknown. I've tried both the APN settings listed here and the automatic defaults, but either way I still have texts and calls but no internet access.

The automatically detected APN defaults are as follows (set entries only):

Name: TelecomDefault
APN: wap.telecom.co.nz
MCC: 530
MNC: 05
APN type: default,supl
APN protocol: IPv4
Bearer: Unspecified

Name: Telecom MMS
APN: wap.telecom.co.nz
MMSC: http://lsmmsc.xtra.co.nz
MMS proxy: 210.55.11.73
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 530
MNC: 05
APN type: default
APN protocol: IPv4
Bearer: Unspecified

The former has a radio button selection box (as do manually added APNs) and the latter does not.

change "wap.telecom.co.nz" to "internet.telecom.co.nz" on TelecomDefault - Also change the APN type to just say "Default" - Save, next go into Telecom MMS, change the APN type to "MMS" - Save, Make sure the marker is beside Telecom Default. in the APN selection screen.

Doneskies.

Thanks for the instructions - turns out "default" had to be all lower case >.< (I had "Default"... sigh)

Lastly, I am still running 4.0.2 for now, but thanks for the heads about potential issues.
