Oh yeah, the questions keep comin.

Was downloading iTunes music...now I have a droid phone and, is Amazon the was to go using Shazam etc...Soundhound appears to want me to buy a Amazon MP3 app, which I dont particularly want.

Is the solution just bo buy it over iTunes at the PC or MAc and then swap, or is there a nice easy way to buy music on the fly on the phone?

Cheers

Must be the sake talkin...

Ok, have another go..

I want to buy music as i did before on the iPhone (there i used itunes, when i heard a song i liked i used soundhound to tell me what it was and the i grabbed it instantly from itunes store and piad for it)

I tried this on android through soundhound and it takes me to Amazon, where they asked me to download an MP3 player..Q: do i have to use theirs? whats wrong with the one that comes with the HTC One X?

Clear as mud.

You won't be able to buy MP3s off amazon, it's US only.
(Unless you get a US credit card + address. (You might need a US VPN as well))

That's true. Similarly you can't buy music from Google Music either without those workarounds.  But I am not sure that Google cares what credit card you use since they use Google Checkout. But you do need a US IP address to even see the music.

If music is part of your "system" then you have to consider that no other device has integration like the iPhone (if you're outside the US)...

Oh, it's no deal breaker..more like "what works on Android right now?"

Too many other things on this device that are awesome, no need to get my knickers in a twist over having to plug in and sink. Double twist works like a charm to that function.

Cheers for help.

Plus..my Pizza

I never worked out why you needed software to move songs from a PC to an Android phone since the phone is plugged into a computer, it usually shows up as a drive and you can just drag and drop songs to it.

As for purchasing them, well I presume you could purchase from iTunes which are now DRM free and then just copy them to the phone for listening. My quick research suggests that Google Music  cannot play ALAC files (Apple lossless) so if that's your thing, you will need to convert to FLAC which it can play.
