It certainly won't be released for any sold-in-NZ phones any time soon.

no not yet, still on 4.02 and waiting.

And Galaxy Nexus doesnt rely on NZ carriers for update as it is not sold as such in NZ and Samsung said a while back they dont intend to sell it in NZ.

Weren't VF selling them? Or am I thinking of the Nexus S?

If not local, then you'll be waiting for the firmware to be released to whatever CSC your phone is using (the intended country of use pretty much).

VF sold the Nexus S. I have 3 of them here at work and all have been upgraded to 4.04. My GN however still languishes on 4.02.

I was toying with the idea of doing a manual update but the process looked way too complicated. It was much easier on the Nexus One where you just downloaded the update and flashed it with no rooting or anything else required.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

I got it via official OTA about two weeks ago.

Basically if your phone is yakju you should be able to get the update on day 1 regardless your physical region/location.

To check your phone build just download "GN Official Update Checker" in the app market (it's free).

Note there's a minor bug stopping a lot of yakju from getting an update notification. There's a simple fix (can't find the original post on XDA but here's one of the google search results):

You probably need to try this trick more than 1 time. I succeeded on my 5th try I think. Some people report they had to try like 25 times.

4.04 is a great improvement over 4.02 hell I dont even mind calling it 4.1
