Good news, looks like sony nz has recently updated their site and now includes a mobile phone section and is 'now showing' the Lt26i / Xperia S.  (The flagship 'Sony' phone...after letting go of the ericsson).

"currently out of stock".

Ive been searching daily for the release of this phone in NZ for the past 2 months.
My current nokia e63 needs a replacement and I really need to enter 'smartphone' after supressing myself from buying apple for the past few years.
Android here I come !

Any news on the ICS upgrade?

That, plus the benchmark results vs the Galaxy Nexus/Galaxy S2, would probably mostly put me off

The rest of the features, quad 3G, NFC, camera etc, look promising though!

ICS will be avalible on the Xperia S after Sony roll it out to the other models lower in the family of phones.... i.e. the flagship gets it last.

Some interesting benchmark tests by various people and in comparasion to the SGS2, sure the S2 has some wins however overall the Sony Xperia S is tipped to perform once it gets ICS.

Performs well against the HTC One X... except for battery and a few other small things but when it comes down to it....they all do the same things. Interesting to note the Sony has a dedicated camera button.
