I got my S2 parallel imported and using ODIN upgraded it to 2.3.3, the Vodafone NZ firmware downloaded from xda developers. The kernel version is 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKG3-CL374944 root@DELL127 #2. Baseband version is I9100XXKE7
Build  is GINGERBREAD.XWKG3.

I would like to upgrade the firmware preferably to ICS through Vodafone. Kies says the firmware isn't recognised. I don't want to root the phone.
Where do I find an upgrade that will work? I believe the phone came from Romania (COA).

I'd appreciate any direction.

Cheers,

Stephen

I'm in the same process, I've done a firmware upgrade from 2.3.4 (SMO) to 4.0.3 (VNZ) and ended up with the same kies problen.

I'm had a couple of forum replies from the XDA developers and there are a couple of other things to try that I will give ago over the next few days.

I'll let you know how I get on

Greg

Problem partiallly resolved through this link http://androidromupdate.com/2012/04/27/vodafone-new-zealand-samsung-galaxy-s2-ics-update-4-0-3-android-ice-cream-sandwich-i9100xwlp7-vnz-kiesota-stock-firmware/
I have to wait an hour for free download of 400Mb file so will report back tomorrow on my success?

Upgrade successful. For other beginners...I ended up wiping data and restoring the phone to factory settings then using Kies as Odin wouldn't work for me at first. I think it would have worked had I done a factory reset. This has meant reinstalling apps and getting the phone back to my preferred settings but I do have ICS.
Sorry that I haven't been more ambitious fellow geeksUndecided.
