Hey there I was wondering if someone would be able to give me a hand updating my S2. I few months ago i flashed a Polish version of 4.03 which I followed of a step by step guide and this worked great. However it started to play up, every so often it would lag when i started typing on the keyboard and apps would often crash. Today I tried to reflash back to the official gingerbread so I could update to ICS with Kies however this didnt go down well and now Kies wont even recognize my phone.

When i type *#1234# into the dialer it comes up with:
PDA:I900TDOLP5
Phone:I900TDOLP4
CSC:Unknown

If someone could help me fix this or give me a few hints where i am going wrong that would be fantastic.

Thanks,
Nick

I flashed it with this:

Model:  GT-I9100T
PDA: I9100TDOLP5
Version:4.0.3
Date: 2012 April
CSC: I9100TTNZLP3
Country/Carrier: New Zealand

I downloaded it from the SamMobile website. I brought my phone of Dicksmith and Im with telecom so Im not to sure if i should be using Telecom specific firmware or what. On the box it says its a GT-I9100 not a GT-I9100T could this be why it dint work?

Any help would be appreciated

Have you tried this one?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928 (look for telecom)

It's the telecom, not sure which version of ICS it is, but there is also 4.0.3 for Vodafone a bit further down, that's the one I used

Ok im still having trouble after many attempts. Annoyingly multiupload has been down so i have only been able to trry different firmware from the Sammobile website. I was wondering if anyone else on here has a S2 from dicksmith and if they can update it via kies or can you not update via kies if you have previously flashed the phone?

Cheers

Correct.

Kies (somehow) checks your region/CSC matches the SIM provider of the card installed or setup with. If they don't match it wint look for the local updates correctly.

Similarly how I had to put in an aussie data sim while in australia, to update the navigon app that come with it when I purchased it there.

It will need to be manually flashed back to a 2.3.x correct NZ CSC version I suspect. First you need to find out the frequency band to find it if its or is not a T version. DSE sell generic XSA versions, or official telecom ones. If it was their 'unlocked' model it will likely not be full telecom compliant

*#0011#

shows band info

I've just done an ICS update, there were some issues, but the most important part of the step that seemed to fix the issues was making sure after the flash was done to do a full factory reset and cache clear.

Hey thanks for the replies, I think its just the standard non telecom unlocked phone as when i brought it, it didnt have any of telecoms applications. When i type*#0011# in the dailer it says WCDMA 850 band 5.

Thats XTs band. So may as well be a 9100T
