Hi there, as the title suggests I'm looking for an Android to desktop iphoto alternative. I'm using and Android for photo taking and want to sync them to the cloud and or desktop.

I used
Lion and Win 7

Cheers

Dropbox for android is fantastic, auto upload the pics even over 3G - just turn on automatic camera upload in the settings and you're away.

Dropbox should suffice. It automatically syncs photos taken on an android phone to your dropbox account. I use it and am happy with how it works, doesn't have a lot of customisation to it for files other than Photo/Video but there are other apps which can expand on it. I've used Dropsync before which lets you specify folders to be uploaded on a regular basis and works well.

If you are on Google then why not instal google Drive, when you hit the share button along with all the normal gmail or other options the drive turns up and if your pc is setup with drive then so it appears.

Dropbox!  :-)

And if you have a NAS at home see if it has the option to hook in (my Thecus can) and then anything you drop into it via your Android phone will also get pulled down onto your home NAS :-)

Ok, so Dropbox or Google+.

I want to be able to upload and then view photo's on a PC or a Mac, then share them if I want to from a PC or Mac.

Which one is the best storage/retrieval and viewing?

I am on Google+ only by default, but use FB as my social hub really. Still, open to working with either.

I haven't used googledrive to compare but dropbox really is 'set and forget'

1) take a picture
2) dropbox automatically uploads picture to your storage
3) dropbox automatically downloads picture to your PC etc

Dropbox AND ES File Explorer and you can go nuts (in a don't scare the kids sort of way)... and access your NAS as well. :-)

ES File Explorer now supports both Google Drive _and_ Dropbox... and Skydrive. You can cut and paste between them all.

Dropbox does have a camera/photo seamless upload feature as already mentioned.

Plus Dropbox on a PC can be set to sync whatever by nominating which folders you want to sync.

+1 Dropbox.
