Guys

Need a bit of help.

My phone upgraded to 4.03 over the weekend and now when I use it as a wireless hotspot to VPN (Nortel contivity client) from my laptop into the companies network.

Laptop to phone works fine, I can connect to it and use it as a hotspot to surf the net but just can no longer get my VPN to connect

The issue has only occured since the upgrade so it makes sense that this is the problem, has anyone come across any similar issues?

ICS 4.0 changed with new services to handle VPNs. Developers are now able to build VPN interfaces, where in past versions one would have to root a given device to achieve the same thing.

This may have some impact on existing VPN services. I would expect these issues to be picked up pretty quickly as developers embrace the new services. I've read a few paragraphs where people are observing oddities with ICS VPN.

I run OpenVPN on my PC over a gingerbread v2.3.3 mobile hotspot and effectively it's just TCP/UDP over IP on port 1194. If one is using PPTP there may be GRE protocol considerations, but in my case it's not even using VPN on my mobile, just IP.

Is that an option or is the IP addressing dictated by the phone and service provider.
