I have an imported Galaxy Note (of Chinese origin, I think?) and have been waiting with anticipation for the official ICS update to become available. The device claims it's up to date with 2.3.6.

Am I just being impatient as the update rolls out, or is there a reason why ICS isn't available on my device?

Thanks guys! Laughing

Samsung only started rolling out the ICS updates for the Note a couple of weeks ago. It took about 6-8 weeks for the bulk of the SGS2 updates to roll out, so you should see an update in the next couple of weeks.

It's also possible that the update won't come OTA, and you may need to plug into a computer with Kies .

Are you able to post a screen shot of your 'About phone' screen? Interested to see what build, etc, you installed through Kies.

Has anybody with an NZ version of the phone got the update? I suggested to a family member with the Note that they try Kies, but still no option to upgrade.

Nothing in Australia/NZ yet, even England only started getting it over the weekend just gone. They got LQ2, a fair jump over the initial LPY release that went out.

Or just download it from here and flash the CPW (Car Phone Warehouse which is a generic "open" version of the UK firmware) version using Odin;

LR1 huh? Must be a new June release, presumably LQ is May and LP was April.

I'm still not touching it until they fix the eMMC bugs (which they won't). I'm paranoid about bricking it so will stick to CM9.
