I just purchased my first paid app today from the play store. If I get a new phone in the future, will I be able to transfer my paid apps to the new phone, or will I need to re-purchase them? Thought I would check before I start paying for a lot more apps. Thanks.

Provided you login to the new phone with the same Google account, your apps will be all be available UNLESS "Google Play" thinks a particular app isn't compatible with that particular device....in which case you may not see it. This is very unlikely unless your new phone is less capable or has very different hardware / android version than the old one.

I use the same Google account on 4 devices (3 x phones and 1 x tablet)...and all the apps I've bought can be used on any of them....except the lowlly Vodafone 845 (Android 2.1) which can't see a couple of the  more demanding apps I wouldn't want to use on that phone anyway.

Bottom line: The apps are tied to the Google account...not the phone (exception noted above).

When you go into the Play Store- My Apps and slide across to 'all', the apps that are linked to your google account are displayed and can be downloaded. That is what I did when I upgraded from my desire hd to my one x.
