A while back I lost the charger for my tf101. I'm looking at different options to charge it since a full replacement charger is a wee bit expensive and doesn't seem to be in Stock many places. Does anyone know if I just got a replacement cable, could I plug in and charge it with an old ipod usb wall career? Or LG p500 wall charger? Or how long does it take to charge from pc usb?

I have used an ipad charger and also my cellphone charger with the transformer cable to charge my tf101 without any problems.
Only thing I am worried about is if the cable gets damaged I am toast as its a propriety cable and I havent seen any for sale anywhere to get a spare cable

Thanks!

Yeah, it's the one thing I don't like about my tf101... the proprietary cable; Though I guess apple gets away with it and they set the standard.

pbtech sells them for $25 - still ridiculously expensive for one little cable but better than I've I've seen the chargers going for.

Computer Lounge has an international charger kit for $31 with the cable, but no NZ plug. They're closed on Sundays and I don't want to pay shipping, otherwise I'd go for that option.

Then I've seen them on other sites for $45 - $55 :-O

Anybody else know of other sources? :)

Bah, had another look at the ipod charger I was thinking of using and it has the wrong usb connector on it... that just leaves my phone charger (5.1v/0.7A) vs the tf101 charger which seems to be either 5v/2a or 15v/1.2a hmm..

There's a whole thread on the subject at xda-dev: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1087321

The computer lounge option actually looks best, and I forgot shipping is free from them! So have ordered one.

Aye, I was planning to get the transformer cable and and use it with the ipod charger...  but on closer inspection of the ipod charger it has a weird usb jack. It's not type A which is what I think the transformer cable is; and it's not a type B or mini. I'm not sure what it is.

Its listed but we dont have one in stock and we have not sold one, the price seems a little steep @ $82 inc gst trade.

Yup, that's the one. I sure don't want to pay $82 for one though! :) Looks like the one from Computer Lounge is still the best option and I'll just use it with a UK or US to NZ travel adapter.

Thanks for the info anyway.

Ebay's the best place to find stuff like this. Just search for "asus transformer charger" or "tf101 charger".
