Hi all,

As the title says, I'm after an Android phone to replace my dying iPhone 3G.

Whats a general all-rounder out there that'll do everything (to the same standard) my current iPhone can do now without breaking the bank? So, so, so many options for someone who has little to no experience with android devices.

UI and stability is pretty up there in terms of requirements (can't deal with things that are horrible to navigate/use). Should I be looking at older android 2.x.x or to the more recent 4.x releases?

Inexplicably drawn to the HTC One V. Will I see a marked increase in performance from what I have now?
Any other suggestions? I'm not above picking up something second hand either. Under the ~$400NZD mark ideally

Dont excpect a whole lot for less than $400 but check out HERE and see what you like, would recommend staying with Samsung or HTC but thats just me. There are tones of these questions on geekzone though.. have a look through the last few pages.

A cat amongst the pigeons suggestion seeing as you are an iOS user: a second hand 3GS costs around the 300-400mark. Just saying and you can upgrade to latest firmware. Otherwise defy, wildfire, galaxy and other popular mainstream androids do all the same things and cost about the same (or a bit less) secondhand.
