Please help me. I don't have a PC at home, but I do have PS3 with compatible external HD that is full of music and movies. Can I transfer files directly from PS3 to my Galaxy S3???

What sort of files do you want to transfer?

I have and APP on my S1 called Bubble uPnP, it acts as a DLNA server and will therefore stream any media files, video, photos etc to any DLNA device on my home network, including my PS3. Quite clever really, you can take a video and within seconds be playing it back on your living room tele. I am sure that if the S1 can do it then your S3 will be well capable.

I want to go the other way around, and put music files from the PS3 onto my S3...does that app do this also??

OIC, sorry no I don't believe it does.

The PS3 would have to be acting as a DLNA server, which I don't think it will.

So does that app only allow streaming via Wifi or 3g? I just want something where I can plug my phone into HDD or PS3, and xfer music files to my phone and have the file types convert if required. Got not internet at home, nor PC. PS3 is it!!

DLNA file streaming is via WiFi or Ethernet only, on your home network.
I think you might be fighting an uphill battle transferring files from the PS3 to the phone without a Computer. It may be possible but will probably be a lot of stuffing around and it may be easier to just borrow a computer from someone to transfer the files you need.

I'd go about it manually and just get it done...

Plug USB drive into PS3.
Select music you want from PS3 and copy to USB drive.
Remove USB drive from PS3.

Go somewhere with a computer.
Plug USB drive into computer.
Plug GS3 phone into computer and turn on USB mode.
Copy files from USB drive to GS3 phone.
Job done.

Other ideas though:
Can you bluetooth out from the PS3?
You may be able to just plug the GS3 phone into the PS3 and turn on the GS3 USB mode. It might work. Try that first as if it does, that may be quickest/easiest for you.
