I currently use the Gmail app on my tablet to handle mail from my gmail account as well as my isp mail account.

My question is, when I travel abroad, will Gmail still pick up my isp mail or will I have to visit the isp web-mail page via a browser to get it ?

Thanks.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

With Gmail I assume you have added your ISP email as POP account, in which case every 10-15min gmail servers poll your ISP pop account and drag any new mail items into your gmail account. All that is backend stuff in gmail, nothing to do with the web or mobile gmail clients.

So the answer is nothing changes.

By the way Pat have you tried accessing your gmail account by the web browser on your tablet as opposed to the gmail app. The lattest web browser code that gmail uses will detect its a tablet (Android or iOS tablet) and give a quite nice two pane interface that I find gives a far richer interface than the gmail app although does depend what version of the app you are using.

This lattest gmail web code uses HTML5 features that are quite cool, ie allows viewing of recent emails and composing when offline

You don't say what tablet, but just remember when you are overseas, if you are using 3G (cellphone network) for data the costs are astronomical. Use wi-fi wherever you can.

Will try it out, thanks.
Its a wifi-only tablet so no danger of data charges :-)
