Hi everyone. I am looking at upgrading my phone. Atm I have a HTC Desire witch is still pretty good but starting to lack in what it can do. Im looking at the HTC One X $769.99 and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus $566.92. $203 difference in price. I cannot decide if the HTC is worth the extra money with the quad core cpu. But also in saying I would also thing the support would be longer lasting on the Galaxy Nexus than the HTC itself what is also a big plus to me since my Desire is running custom versions of Android on it all the time. Would any of you have good suggestions? I am not looking at the Samsung S3 since I don't think its any better than the HTC One X except more gpu power and its quite a bit more money as well.

If you have to, I'd got the One-X, for:

- Camera
- Speed
- Screen
- Weight
- Feel in hand

Nexus for:
- Battery life
- Development of ROMs
- Fast carrier updates

If you had a bit extra though, I'd have taken the Galaxy S III over the OneX
- Screen, better blacks, I'd say overall about the same as the One-X in terms of quality though
- Performance
- Battery life
- Speed
- camera is about the same as the one-X, slightly faster in shooting mode though
- weight, lighter
- Feel in hand

I had the Telecom One-X. It was a bit slow with 1.26, lagging on the home screen. And still hasn't got an update. So maybe get a Vodafone/2Degrees OneX if you can!

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

It's just the older version of the software on it

1.26 is slower, has bad battery
1.28/1.29 are faster, and has better battery, on Vodafone/2Degrees branded phones

Apparently 2.05 is the latest, and has very good battery life! Which should makes it way to Voda/2degrees in the future sometime. XT who knows

Ah thanks I remember reading about that. Thanks I might just have to go back into the store and have a look again at the S3 & One X again lol. I watched this video what is very good (Two Parts) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijBzWmYnZGI&feature=youtu.be and the S3 seems to be alot more fine tuned. It also has unlocked boot loader! I think i might just have to go with a S3 every just about seems better.

I was disappointed in the One X after a few days, Plus now with Jellybean out (Android 4.1) the Galaxy Nexus is so awesome, I bought one today to develop on and I am amazed by the changes Google have made.

Taking that into account, as well as the price and other things, I would hands down go for the Galaxy Nexus.

Trust me ;) You wont be disappointed with it.

I think the difference between the S3 and the One X is very subjective and unique to each person. Both are very similar and the i don't think the downsides are significant.

I personally can't stand the S3 build quality feels cheap and the screen looks terrible. But each to their own.

depend if you r a gamer or not, for me i'd go for gnex bcoz the other two core isn't worth $200 for me

omap 4460 is well sufficient for most of day to day work

Hmm yea still thinking about that Galaxy Nexus alot, plus i don't play games on my phone. I run lots of utilities on my phone. once in the blue moon i play angry birds but that's not a game that's just a time waster lol

Nexus nexus nexus... DOOOO IT. Have a look at the video reviews of Jelly Bean on the Nexus, YouTube. The Galaxy Nexus will run any game the S3 or One X will anyway, whats the issue with games?

+1 Galaxy Nexus will get probably get updates quicker and for longer than the One X.
