Hi All,

So I am looking at purchasing a new cell phone.

I quite like the look of the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830

It seems to have all the features I would require. WiFi, Callendar, Allshare etc. And is available for only $265

Just wondering if anyone has had any personal experience with this phone?

Pros/Cons ??

Thanks all

I hate to say it, but you get what you pay for with the cheaper Android phones. The Galaxy Ace is a rather low-end phone. with a slow processor, very little memory, and a low resolution screen. It's running a fairly recent version of Android, but it'll struggle running many of the apps out there. Don't even think of using the Facebook app, unless you don't mind waiting 2 minutes for it to start up.

A better option right now is to head to The Warehouse, who are selling the Vodafone-branded Galaxy S I9000 for $300 (half the normal price). It's sold out online, but you might have more luck at a physical store.

Or the Huawei Ascend G300, it's always on sale at Bond and Bond for $249, normal retail is $299

Thanks guys,

After taking a good look at the specs and ppi it seems that the galaxy ace is rubbish.

One question i have is that gsmarena says that the galaxy ace supports DLNA? But the Huawei G300 doesnt

Do you know if the Huawei G300 is able to play media over wifi thats being shared by a Nas or Media server on my PC

Thanks

Even if it doesn't support it by default there is likely a media player available that will enable you to do this such as Plex http://www.plexapp.com/
