Hey folks,

I just installed Jellybean on my Asus Transformer TF101 from here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779133

I can say that it is pretty damn awesome! I don't use the tablet for anything serious except reading my work manuals (all on PDF) so decided to leap into it.

It seams very stable (no crashes so far) and is very buttery alright. The browser seems vastly improved with speed and smoothness.

Cheers, Matt.

My TF101 is my wife's so I am reluctant to do anything that could break it otherwise I would be in like a champ. I already run JB on my Galaxy Nexus and really like it.

I know what you mean. My wifes Xperia Arc S is still on gingerbread and I am dying to ICS it... She won't let me touch it as it "does everything I need". They just don't get it! ;-)

I am going to wait for the ota for JB for my US Xoom and then when that is done, do her Transformer. So she can use mine if it turns to custard!

I would be interested to know how the video performance is, as the move from Honeycomb to ICS caused a decline in my TF101's video playing capability. I have had to drop my MP4 and MKV files to qHD to get smooth playback.
I understand the ROM you have loaded is a work in progress, but I'm sure it won't be any buggier than the first ASUS ICS OTA for the TF101 was.

What res are you trying to play? If you have a link to a couple of similar files I can give them a go if you like.

Sorry I don't have links to anything uploaded at the moment, but thank you for the offer.
I just use Handbrake to rip .TS files recorded from Freeview on the HTPC down to either MP4 or MKV files. 720p files that played comfortably under HC became stuttery under ICS. So I had to drop the res to qHD by using the 'iPhone 4' setting in Handbrake.
I use my TF for watching recorded TV when I am on the road so I might give one of the JB ROMs look once they mature a little more. ASUS have indicated JB for the TF101 but I imagine it will be after the 201 300 and 700, so I probably won't wait that long.

Edit: fixed typo

The Xperia Arc S has had ICS for months now but it wasn't delivered OTA, you have to connect phone to PC companion or Sony update service and it should update to at least 4.0.3 and maybe even 4.0.4 which is what I'm running

What are your handbrake settings? I have ts files here but normally just watch them on the laptop. Will rip something and let you know....

Yeah. Not a problem upgrading it. I am just too scared to touch it. I have been told not to touch it :-)

Thank you. I pretty much stuck with the defaults for the iPhone 4 rip. For the MKV files I made a custom profile where the over riding setting was a 1280x720 resolution. I am not near the i7 laptop I use for ripping so I can't be more exact on all the settings (high profile, etc). My main point, I guess, is that the move from HC to ICS broke something, and I am hoping the move to JB will fix it. I will dig out the settings when I get home and pm you to save dragging this thread OT.

Not to hijack the thread but I just got JB OTA to my US wifi Xoom. That's a nice update which didn't require me to do anything deliberate apart from a accepting it.

So far very nice.
