Hi there,

Yesterday after receiving a call, my phone went completely dead.

Couldn't switch it on. Tried plugging in the charger, but the charge light wouldn't come on.

I've had it only 7 weeks and it's been fine up until then.

Has anyone have this happen to them and what the outcome was?

I've sent it back and am I'm a bit concerned that it's fatal and will end up getting a replacement phone. Does anyone know if contacts, pictures etc can be recovered?

Contacts and apps should all be backed up in your google account if you ticked the "Keep my account backed up" when you first added your google account to the device. Unless you had instant upload ticked when using google+ then the pictures are probably only on the device.

The bad news about the One X is that it doesn't have a micro sd card slot which most android phones usually save their photos on. So, worst case scenario is that the photos are gone...

Leave it on the charger for a while. Try to restart it. Then press and hold the power button for a cold reboot. This has happened once to me, when for some reason, it completely depleted the battery overnight. The phone was turned off (fastboot enabled) at the time. For some reason the battery figures were screwed up hence the cold reboot. Hasn't done it again since.

Edit: Note I mean a cold reboot, not a factory reset!

Doh! Should have read the whole post. Problem was so similar to mine I just burst into print. Glad I have dropbox account that came with the phone to back up stuff as well.

i have dropbox app installed. all pictures/videos will be uploaded online once i am connected to wifi at home.
