Cell ID text messages after Android 4 update

My partner has an HTC Sensation on 2 Degrees and recently did the Android 4 update. Now he gets random txt messages from sender '50' that just says the area he's in (read on another topic on geekzone that this the Cell ID broadcast)

Can these message be stopped?

Turn off cell broadcast messages on the handset under message settings

Nothing in the message settings mentions cell broadcast?? There are settings for Notifications, Text messages, MMS messages and General - and none contain anything about cell broadcast...

Hi
On my HTC the option is under Settings -> Device -> Call -> Cell Broadcast -> "Disable receipt of CB messages"
Set this option to Checked and you should not receive anymore messages

Thanks - was under Settings - Call - Cell Broadcast. It was checked and now unchecked to disable messages (different android vers. I guess?)
