Hi all,

A few days ago I finished up a review on a galaxy S3 in a new blog I've started and thought some here may enjoy reading it.

A bit of background: Samsung ran a competition on their facebook page to win an S3 and one of the competitions was "what would you do to be the first person in NZ to win an S3" and my answer was to write a review of the S3 and post it on geekzone!

So yes I'm putting it clear out there that I was very lucky in winning it, but I've tried to not be biased and write a fair review.

Great review!

Just a question, by 'stock samsung keyboard', does that include the swype type feature where you don't need to really lift your finger that has bad predictive, or is it where you tap on each individual key?

Thanks! Hmmm that's something I never looked at when I had mine. There are several input methods to choose from but from what I recall, not different input keyboards. So there's the stock samsung keyboard which as I said I wasn't a fan of. One of the other samsung options is basically like the old palm pilot days where you would draw each letter. Other than that I can't recall what else there was.

Specifically on your question though, I've just had a read of an XDA thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1669072.html) and it appears it does come with as you put it a "swype type feature". From reading that thread it's not the actual swype keyboard, but a lot of the features of it. As others in that thread have mentioned, you simply need to go to swype.com, register, and download the Swype BETA keyboard which apparently works fine.

It doesn't have Swype built in, but it has an option to add the function to the stock keyboard

Ahh I see. I really do like Swype, and with the larger display it'll probably be easier for me (Using a Xperia Neo right now).
