Hi There!

I have the 3G 8.9 and I have been patiently waiting for the ICS Update with no sign of it anywhere.

I am not sure if it's out in other countries or if there is some way to check other than using the Settings > About > Update to see if there is one available?

Any information would be gratefully accepted.

Yeah sure, tell that to the 8.9 and 10.1 owners who have been waiting for months now for promised updates.
Their phone updates aren't much better. Bit like Vodafone actually, hinting at upgrades that don't eventuate, look at the broadband data allowance debacle.

Wade...yep rumoured! Don't hold your breath.

Yep, same boat here, 8.9 3G Galaxy Tab. Checking every day for ICS update. I know they have been rolling it out in the northern hemisphere but nothing for us so far...

One thing that is driving me nuts with my 8.9 is that I can't connect it to my PC reliably. Usually when I connect it it says device not recognized.

Oh I don't know about the amendment. ASUS were pretty quick with their update of the Transformer from Honeycomb to ICS. Trouble was it was a a complete mess when it happened, and even now after multiple bug fixes it's still not as stable as the original HC. Fast isn't always good, so I am waiting to see how the upgrade of the TF300 from ICS to Jellybean pans out.
What bugs me is when the delay by the OEM is multiplied by the 'testing' carried out by the service providers on their branded handsets.
As always there is the custom rom route, but that has its own pitfalls.
