Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for centrally managing Android devices? I'm going to be sending out some devices and want to manage things like adding/editing wifi networks, being able to track by GPS, remote wipe etc.

I have seen 3cx and I tested it a while back but was really heavy on the battery. Also it couldn't add wifi networks (which is a pain).

Anyone got any comments/recommendations?

I know Google have a Device Policy Administration App for Android, when using Google Apps.
Not sure if it has the features you require, but it might be worth a look.

If you get a "Pro" account with Prey then you could install that on them and use that for tracking, remote wipe purposes etc.

http://preyproject.com/

Pricing varies. US$15/month for 10 devices.

Sure but Prey Project does not offer full management as in what can be installed, blocked, what can work when connected to network XYZ and what cannot be used when not connected to network ABC and so on...

I know this, but is there anything out there that does all you describe, as well as remote device tracking? I've not seen any enterprise device management solutions (my experience is admittedly limited to Blackberry and iPhone) that support this. I'm not aware of a single-package solution.

The best we've got so far is enterprise certificates for Android which are installed when connecting to the EAP WiFi network which can enforce requirement for a PIN lock and push an Enterprise account configuration to the device. Beyond that it seems fairly limited.

FWIW - If I knew my company was potentially tracking the location of my cellphone, then it'd spend a lot of its time sitting on a desk rather than being carried around.

There are quite a few - Symantec acquired Nukona this year and has some trialware available.

A good friend of mine (from the Microsoft MVP days) works for Soti in Canada and they have pretty good cross-platform solutions.

A Google search will show many other options - it all depends on budget really.
