It seems Samsung will be announcing the Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini tomorrow, so here is the thread for owners and wannabe owners...

No doubt that Apple will soon be suing them for the look and feel of a 4" screen.. personally I don't see why you would want this fone compared the the normal SGS3

Pointless phone is pointless.

It has worse specs than the S2, which is cheaper.

In the perfect world they are beginning streamlining to deliver Android and related platform updates for these devices (s3 / S3 mini) at the same time > lowering costs across a family of products and extending the effective support life in practice. This is a big part of what is needed to take on iPhone in some market segments.

I was excited when I saw this announced but disappointed by what it actually is.

After 4 months with my S3, I still feel it is too big. If the S3 mini was the same in all ways, apart from the screen size (And maybe a somewhat lower resolution to match - but not as low as what this actually has) I would be be getting one.

The fact it has a vastly inferior resolution (And the S3 screen is far worse than an iPhone screen as it is), less battery life, a slower processor, an inferior camera are all deal breakers.

A big misstep here from Samsung I think. Had they really made the specs close to the S3 I think this phone could have done extremely well, essentially letting them bring a device of the S3s selling power to a smaller form factor that is still important to a good many buyers.

Wow I feel Samsung really messed up here! Pretty much only on par with the Sony Xperia P which will be cheaper then the S3 mini. I loved my S3(now sold), but for me it was to big that's is why I have decided for the first time to buy the iPhone. I bet apple and nokia had a bit of a chuckle when they read the leaked specs, but i guess we should always take these specs with a grain of salt. Also just because it only has a dualcore 1ghz processor. This doesn't mean they haven't worked a bit of magic like apple did with the impressive A6 dualcore.

Hi, I agree, a 4" S3 with same gubbins as an S3 would be more the go, for me the full S3 is just a little to big, so a 4" equivalent in every other respect would be just right.

This is just them wanting to piggyback on the S3's success. If this named anything else no one would care. Its only resemblance to the S3 seems to be in design.

Dudes/Dudettes, did I ever get it wrong. I thought is was going to be a Samsung Galaxy S III with a smaller screen, but now it appears to be some other phone altogether. It's all a 'little bit' silly really.

Maybe it should have been called the Samsung Tadpole.

At least that's a 'real galaxy' in the Draco constellation and probably a 'tad' more exciting than what Samsung has knock'd up in their backyard just before lunch time.

My silliness aside, if the majority of us here, with differing levels of expertise, passions and business focuses are all generally laughing at the Samsung Galaxy S III mini, how does that bode for a company that genuinely believes people would pay money for such a phone.

I'm a 4" screen fan-boy and I wouldn't buy a SGSIII mini, cause people would laugh at me..... even more than they usually do.

All I can say is that Samsung is lucky Apple doesn't embark on an ad/video campaign to poke fun at the Samsung Android fan-base, as Samsung has just offered them a gift.

Totally underwhelmed. I thought this would be the answer to the "The S3 is too big" critics. As someone mentioned, get an S2 (and install SuperNexus on it!)
