Not sure this is the right place to put this, but here we go. Looking to sell my X5 as I have sidegraded to the G300.
Is a phone worth less/harder to sell rooted with a custom rom on it? It was running Aurora but I have since downgraded it to official 2.2 and it is now running CyanogenMod 7.2. I'm thinking it is better if everything is stock and works unlike custom roms which often for this phone mostly work with an issue or two. What do you think?

Depends on the buyer. Advertise on geekzone first : ).

My feeling is many people would not know the difference anyway but may misunderstand cyanogen features.

In your position I would return to stock in case the buyer has problems and consults a clueless 3rd party.

Always sell as standard with fresh install of latest stock.

"Totally standard, no faults, perfect working order"

Is always better than:n

"its rooted and I put software on it from some geek you never heard of but it's better but not everything works 100% and a store will not be able to help you"

Geeks can root/rom to their hearts content, and they know it.

I think most people would prefer a 'standard' phone - so I'd say stock firmware would appeal to the biggest audience.
Also probably quite nice if you have done that whole reset to factory/wipe thing as well - anyway - gets your data off the phone as well.

Yep, the end user doesn't know what you've done to it, and doesn't really know if it's better or not...
