Had this upgrade run on my phone (and partners) this morning, S3.

Anyone know what's new? The official site lists lost of functionality that I'm not seeing.

Basically, the interface should have become a lot smoother for one..

Another plus is Google Now - can be activated by swiping up on the home screen button in the middle - sorry, cant seem to put it into words right now. This is one of the biggest features that comes with Jelly Bean.

Panorama photos are now in the Camera app that is out of the box.

And I think there were a lot more behind the scenes additions like making a lot of the apps more efficient etc.

Jelly Bean is sweet, should be nice and smooth. Also the Google Now should be accessible by going into the 'Google' app itself (yes the search app), it picks up a lot of useful stuff over time.

Who knows the best source for seeing what software is being released - and what phones.
Would love to see Jellybean on my note - but I don't want to play the waiting game.

Shouldnt this be in the Android forum rather than this one?

The XDA forum has everything you need but sometimes hard to navigate unless you are used to it and some of the info can be fragmented and confusing. Sammobile.com has the most up to date information so try there.

If you can't wait for JB take the plunge and flash a custom Rom as the Note is well supported on XDA.

Google now is a battery hog and really only gimmicky so once you have had your play with it switch it off under settings.

Given that most of this is/was covered under the S3 owners thread you are right it should be moved.

Enjoying the new JB, but I'm having this issue with my phone requiring a reboot every few days. Hope it's fixed in 4.1.2, a second update of which has just been released for the UK fixing a couple of major bugs apparently.
